Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit: It’s unfortunate that entertainment industry is always neglected by all governments

Indian Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit on January 31 spoke to ANI about this year’s budget. Speaking to ANI, he said that they are the biggest taxpayers in this country and it is unfortunate that our entertainment industry is always neglected by all governments. Reacting to this year’s budget, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit has said, “It is unfortunate that our entertainment industry is always neglected by all governments. We have not spoken about the way other industries are spoken about in the budgets whether it is the textile industry, soap industry or health industry. The way other industries are identified and discussed and debated and benefits are thought about that industry but no one thinks about our entertainment industry, no one thinks about how to save the industry, how to grow it. I hope that this budget brings some benefit to our industry, which we feel good about it. We are the biggest taxpayers in this country. We have played a very important role in COVID-19 by entertaining people by sitting at their homes and we were responsible for people not getting mentally ill.”
