“Marathas couldn’t be given Kunbi caste certificates…,” says Ashishrao Deshmukh

Speaking after the Maratha reservation meeting held in Mumbai, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ashishrao Deshmukh on September 29 asserted that Marathas could never get a Kunbi caste certificate. Ashishrao Deshmukh said, “Under the chairmanship of Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, the OBC reservation meeting was held today. We will not allow others to share the reservation with the OBC community. Supreme Court agreed that ‘Maratha Samaj’ is not backward, therefore it is hard to give them reservations. Marathas couldn’t be given Kunbi caste certificates.”
