From Prabhakar to Navya Swamy: Telugu TV actors who reportedly tested positive for Coronavirus

Telugu TV shootings have resumed shooting amid Corona scare. Despite the assurances and the precautionary measures, a few actors have reportedly tested positive for Coronavirus already and many more are under self-isolation awaiting their test results. Here’s a quick look at the Telugu TV actors who are reportedly battling the virus.

Smita

Indian pop sensation Smitha, who left a lasting impact on Telugu TV with her show Padutha Theeyaga and Dance with Me, along with husband Shashank have reportedly tested positive for Coronavirus.

She took to her Twitter handle a while ago to confirm the same.

She wrote, “Mad mad day yesterday. Had some body pains which I thought was due to heavy workout but got tested to be on safe side. Shashank & I tested covid positive. Mostly asymptomatic. Waiting to kick Covid out, donate plasma & chill���� We Stayed Home Stayed Safe but Covid came home �� (sic)”

Fans on social media are praying for her speedy recovery.

Bharatwaj

Telugu actor Bharatwaj Rangavajjula of Swatichinukulu and Bandham fame has tested positive for Coronavirus. The actor took to his Instagram handle to share a video in which he confirmed the same and added that he is completely asymptomatic. In an exclusive chat with us, the actor said, "I would only tell my co-actors to sanitize properly before and after performing romantic scenes. You don’t have to feel shy or worry about the other person. Let’s think of our families at home, too. Personal hygiene and being responsible can help us keep the spread in control."

Prabhakar

Prabhakar Boddu of Suryakantham, Matti Gajulu fame has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. He was one of the first Telugu TV actors to test positive for Coronavirus. As per the latest reports, the actor, who had resumed shooting for one of his shows recently, has exhibited symptoms like a high fever. Following this, he has undertaken the COVID-19 test and is currently undergoing treatment, confirmed a close source. When contacted by ETimes-TV, the actor denied the claims and disconnected the call immediately.

Navya Swamy

Popular Telugu TV actress Navya Swamy, who is currently seen playing the female lead in the daily soaps Aame Katha and Na Peru Meenakshi, has also tested positive for COVID-19 recently. She has taken the test upon her doctor’s suggestion and is currently under self-isolation in Hyderabad.

This is more of a mental fight than a physical one: Navya Swamy

Talking to ETimes-TV, the actress said, “I’ve realized that this is more of a mental fight than a physical one. So, I chose to be strong and fight it out. There is panic in my neighbourhood, too. Everyone’s like ‘don’t touch that, don’t touch this, don’t come out, stay away from here’. Okay, I get the reality but it really hurts if you get treated like that. It is more painful than the disease.”

Ravikrishna

Aame Katha actor Ravikrishna, who shot to fame with Bigg Boss Telugu 3, has also tested positive for COVID-19. He has been working with Navya for their show and also a dance act to be performed in yet another show for a while now.

Ravi confirmed the same in an interaction with ETimes-TV recently. “I’ve been under self-isolation ever since Navya tested positive. I have no symptoms so far. Even I went blank when I was first informed that I was tested positive. But after seeing Navya, I chose to be strong, too,” the actor told ETimes-TV.

Sakshi Siva

Actor Sakshi Siva, who is currently seen playing the role of Seenaiah in the popular daily soap ‘Mounaragam’, has also reportedly tested positive recently. Close sources reveal that the actor is under self-isolation and taking treatment.

Actor Harikrishna, who plays the role of Nanda Gopal in the show Intinti Gruhalakshmi, was also reportedly tested positive for Coronavirus recently. The show also features actress Kasturi Shankar, Lahari and others in the lead roles.
