Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu: Video calling Manisharma for a question on music to winning Rs. 25 lacs, major highlights of Thaman and Devi Sri Prasad's Diwali special episode

Ace South Indian composers Thaman S and Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) have made the Diwali special episode of Jr NTR-hosted Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu extra special with their music and fun banter. From gracing the show for the first time together to seeking the help of legendary composer Manisharma's help for a question about music, here's a quick recap of the Diwali special episode.

Host Jr NTR gave his guests Thaman S and Devi Sri Prasad two nicknames - Thumburudu and Naradudu respectively. He addressed them with their nicknames in the show.

When DSP revealed that his mother watches the show regularly, host Jr NTR disclosed that he likes the chicken pulao made by her. NTR added that he also loved Thaman's vegetarian Thali as well.

Jr NTR recalled how he met DSP on a flight to Chennai and the latter introduced himself and played his Kalusukovalani songs. NTR also disclosed how he used to meet Thaman at Mani Sharma's studio.

DSP revealed how Jr NTR once called him over the phone to appreciate his music but he felt someone was playing a prank with him. DSP and Jr NTR burst into laughter recalling the moment when the latter had to confirm his identity many-a-time.

DSP and Thaman jammed with mandolin and rhythm respectively and entertained with an impromptu composition on Evaru Meelo Koteeswarudu while host Jr NTR also joined humming a line with the duo. Jr NTR also sang an old melody from one of his grandfather NTR's films.

DSP and Thaman took their first lifeline 'Audience Poll' on the show for a question on the location of Pakhal lake which was constructed in the 13th century. The guests went with the audience's vote - Warangal.

DSP and Thaman were associated with their mentor and legendary composer Manisharma for many memorable films. They've sought Manisharma's help for a question 'Who was the first Indian musician to perform at the UN General Assembly'. Mani Sharma quickly gave them the right answer - MS Subba Lakshmi.

Thaman and DSP won Rs. 25 lacs on the show. While Thaman wanted to contribute a portion of the prize money to musicians who were affected during the pandemic, DSP wanted to contribute a portion to an NGO for the homeless and destitute in Vijayawada.
