Bigg Boss Telugu 3: From Ravikrishna’s racist remarks to Hema’s eviction, highlights of week 1

With its share of major fights and controversies, Bigg Boss Telugu season 3 hosted by Nagarjuna Akkineni is racing into the second week. Here’s a quick look at the highlights of the first week.

2/10

Himaja and Hema's fight

This was the first major fight in the house after the nominations for eviction. During the nomination exchange task, Sreemukhi nominated Himaja as her replacement for eviction. Himaja broke down explaining to Sreemukhi’s reasons and did not even hesitate to question Hema, the monitor of the task, regarding her biased decision. This heated argument between Himaja, Hema and Sreemukhi led to the rise of Himaja in the house.

3/10

Ravikrishna’s racist remarks against Mahesh

In one of the tasks, Mahesh was bullied for his skin colour by his co-inmate Ravikrishna. Mahesh instantly hit back at Ravi and the latter apologized for his comments too. This incident earned fame for Mahesh. Even Nagarjuna grilled Ravikrishna for his distasteful comments adding that Bigg Boss has no room for discrimination based on caste, colour and creed. Mahesh and Ravi finally hugged it out.

4/10

Varun-Mahesh-Vithika's dispute

When Bigg Boss fandom started vouching for Mahesh, he was mired in yet another controversy. He was slammed by Varun for his disrespectful behaviour towards his wife Vithika Sheru. This major spat between Varun and Mahesh did not subside easily in spite of the repeated apologies from the latter.

5/10

The fight that led to Hema’s eviction

A major fight broke out between Rahul Sipligunj, Ali Reza and Hema, who was handling kitchen duties in the house. Hema dismissing Rahul and Ali’s suggestions regarding sorting the rations and food reserves in the house did not go well with the duo. Rahul and Ali posed a serious objection to Hema’s dominance in the house. Her non-cooperation in the house was also a matter of concern for the housemates and fans alike. This episode earned her negativity which eventually led to her eviction.

6/10

Jaffar and Baba Bhaskar - the best entertainers of the house

Ace journalist Jaffar and choreographer Baba Bhaskar have bonded over quite quickly in the house. Right from the first day, Baba was seen teaching Jaffar Yoga, film songs and even dance. Baba even directed Jaffar and Hema in a parody of the popular film Baahubali. Jaffar and Baba Bhaskar’s bromance was widely admired on social media and earned them the title ‘The Best Entertainers of the house’. It was because of this chemistry, Jaffar was saved from eviction this week.

7/10

Vithika and Varun's romance

Vithika Sheru and Varun Sandesh, the first celebrity couple of Bigg Boss Telugu, are making their presence felt in their own way. Vithik never hesitated to flaunt her love for Varun in the house. The couple was often spotted hugging each other and making endless conversation in the think tub of the house. Varun’s reaction to Mahesh’s objectionable behaviour with Vithika is proof of the strong bond between them. Even host Nagarjuna is impressed with the couple.

8/10

‘Half chapathi’ Punarnavi is here to stay

This is unarguably one of the silliest fights in the house. Punarnavi Bhupalam found fault with the housemates for eating her chapathi without informing her. However, it is later proved that Baba Bhaskar ate the chapathi. Though this is one of the most trolled issues of the house, Punarnavi managed to prove that she is here to stay with her performance as a caretaker in the ‘kids’ task. She was appreciated by host Nagarjuna for supporting her co-inmates Mahesh and Sreemukhi during testing times.

9/10

Mahesh’s hilarious comment on Hema

Mahesh’s ‘pathepaaram’ comment on Hema’s demand for Nagarjuna’s intervention in the dispute with Rahul became fodder for memes. Netizens echoed with Mahesh’s comment and demanded Hema’s eviction too.

10/10

Hema’s elimination and Tamanna Simhadri's entry

Hema, who was fondly called ‘Thopakka’ by Rahul, was eventually evicted from the house. She felt it is pointless to stay in the house when they can’t understand her true intentions. However, Bigg Boss Telugu has welcomed trans-woman as a wild card contestant for the first time ever. Tamanna Simhadri stepped into the Bigg Boss house on Sunday (July 28).
