From Pandian Stores to Kathanayaki: Popular Tamil TV shows which ended and are ending in 2023​

Ever since the year 2023 kickstarted, the Tamil television industry had many new shows being launched and, at the same time, several shows went off-air for various reasons. Within just 10 months of this year, a lot of popular TV shows have gone off the air, and a few more are on the list to conclude soon. Take a look:

​​Pandian Stores​


The popular family drama serial Pandian Stores ended its journey on October 4. The show premiered in October 2018 and ended after airing over 1,350 episodes. The serial stars Stalin Muthu, Sujitha, Venkat Ranganathan, Hema Raj Sathish, Kumaran Thangarajan, and Lavanyaa in the lead roles and also has an ensemble cast including Sheela, Shanthi Williams, S.T.P. Rosary, David Solomon Raja, Meena Sellamuthu, Sumangali, Venkat Subha, and Sri Vidhya Shankar in the supporting cast.

​​Mouna Raagam 2​


The popular television serial Mouna Raagam 2 ended its journey on March 4. The show, which premiered in February 2021, ended after airing over 568 episodes. It was a sequel to Mouna Raagam season 1.

Mouna Raagam 2 is a remake of the Malayalam TV series. Yet the show has enjoyed a good TRP performance. However, the channel has announced a new TV series in the same time slot.

The most popular television serial, Bharathi Kannamma 2 ended on August 6. On the special climax episode of the daily soap, Bigg Boss Tamil 6 fame Shivin and film actor RJ Balaji played a cameo in the climax episode.

The comedy show Raju Vootla Party going off-air indeed came as a shocker to fans. However, the show concluded its journey on a happy note. Bigg Boss Tamil 5 title winner Raju Jeyamohan hosted the show. Due to his step into the films, he quit the show.

Kannana Kanne, one of the popular Tamil serials, ended its journey on March 4. The show premiered in November 2020. The series stars Nimeshika, Radhakrishnan, Rahul Ravi, and Babloo Prithiveeraj in the lead roles. The serial is a remake of the Telugu television series Pournami.

The Tamil TV game show, ‘Oo Solriya Oo Oohm Solriya’ended on March 19. Galata's show title was similar to the blockbuster hit song Oo Solriya Oo Oohm Solriya Allu Arjun's movie 'Pushpa', and the show has attracted a lot of backlash.

​​Kathanayaki​


The popular Tamil television game show ‘Kathanayaki’ ended on October 1. The show premiered in November 2020. The show, which premiered in July 2023, is going to end after airing over 75 episodes. The talent hunt show is hosted by all-time favorites KPY Bala and Cooku with Comali fame Kuraishi. The award-winning actress Radhika Sarathkumar, and the director-actor KS Ravikumar are judges of the show.
