​From Magarasi to Rajini: Popular Tamil TV shows that ended and likely to end in 2023​

Ever since the year 2023 kickstarted, the Tamil television industry had many new shows being launched and, at the same time, several shows went off-air for various reasons. Within 8 months of this year, many popular TV shows have gone off air, and a few more are on the list to conclude soon. Take a look:

The most popular television serial, Magarasi ended on July 1. The show ended after airing over 1036 episodes. The daily soap features Divya Sridhar, Srithika Saneesh, and SSR Aaryann in the lead roles.

Kannana Kanne, one of the popular Tamil serials, ended on March 4. The show premiered in November 2020. The series stars Nimeshika Radhakrishnan and Rahul Ravi and Babloo Prithiveeraj in the lead roles. The serial is a remake of the Telugu television series Pournami. Now the show has started inching towards its climax.

The popular television serial Mouna Raagam 2 ended its journey on March 4. The show, which premiered in February 2021, ended after airing over 568 episodes. It was a sequel to Mouna Raagam season 1. Mouna Raagam 2 is a remake of the Malayalam TV series. Yet the show has enjoyed a good TRP performance. However, the channel has announced a new TV series in the same time slot.

The Tamil TV game show, ‘Oo Solriya Oo Oohm Solriya’ has entered its final week. Galata's show title was similar to the blockbuster hit song Oo Solriya Oo Oohm Solriya Allu Arjun's movie 'Pushpa', and the show has attracted a lot of backlash. Yet the show has enjoyed a good TRP performance. However, the channel has announced a new game show Start Music Season 4 in the same time slot, confirming that Oo Solriya Oo Oohm Solriya is about to conclude.

The most popular television serial, Bharathi Kannamma ended on February 10. On the special climax episode of the daily soap, Bigg Boss Tamil 6 fame Shivin and popular film actor RJ Balaji played a cameo in the climax episode.

Abhiyum Naanum, a popular TV show, has been eclipsed by some other reality show launches and the daily soap ended its journey on February 25. The show, which premiered in October 2020, ended after airing over 867 episodes. Abhiyum Naanum is indeed a remake of the Kannada series 'Abhi Mattu Naanu' and was quite popular among the audience.

The comedy show Raju Vootla Party going off-air indeed came as a shocker to fans. However, the show concluded its journey on a happy note. Bigg Boss Tamil 5 title winner Raju Jeyamohan hosted the show. Due to his step into the films he quit the show.

The popular daily soap Rajini ended its journey on April 30. The show, which premiered in December 2021, ended after airing over 435 episodes. It was a sequel to Mouna Raagam season 1.
