Cooku with Comali 3: From cracking rib-tickling jokes to roasting the judges as 'Nattamai'; times when Manimegalai stole the show

VJ and host Manimegalai needs no introduction. Though she is hugely popular for her anchoring skills, Tamil audience rediscovered her in Cooku with Comalis in a brand new avatar. With her sense of humour, Manumegalai instantly stole the show. It seems, her comic sense gets better over the seasons like aged wine.

Here are some moments where Manimegalai stole the show.

So far, this season has witnessed twice Manimegalai pairings with Manobala. This duo proved to be one of the funniest contestants of the season. Manobala was eliminated from the show when he was paired with Manimeghalai for the second time. And when the results were announced, Manimeghalai was spotted putting a towel around their heads which turned the funniest moments in this season.

Manimegalai is probably the only comali to crack jokes on the judges. Once, she disguised herself as a chef, carried a fake award. When judge Venkatesh Bhatt asked Manimegalai to stand next to her cook, her instant reply was, "Why don’t you go and stand next to your cook, chef Dhamu". It created a laugh riot.

Rakshan and Manimegalai hosted various reality shows. With Rakshan being the host of the show and Manimegalai being a comali of the show, they are often seen flexing who is the better host in a comical way. In season 2, Manimegalai made Rakshan taste salt. Rakshan took revenge by making her eat the salt by convincing herself it was a dish cooked by Santhosh.

Like Pugazh, Manimegalai also tries to get as much as screen space possible. In the most recent episode, Santhosh Pradap remarked, "Manimegalai is a good aid. The only problem is, whenever there is a camera, she’ll run towards it." Even Manimegalai, on many occasions, was seen confessing that she cracks extra jokes to get that screen space.

The show is not complete without Manimegalai stealing recipes during advantage rounds. The strategies she comes up with to distract the cooks and comalis to steal from their platters, caused a laugh riot throughout the season. Whenever something on the cooking table went wrong, the contestants were seen walking to her table immediately.

Manimegalai found opportunities to steal the show with her different disguises. From being a hunchback like Suriya from the ‘Perazhagan’ movie to Sivakarthikeyan from ‘Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam’ movie, her every appearance went viral on the internet.
