​Bigg Boss Tamil: Former contestants who missed the spotlight​

Bigg Boss Tamil has been a launchpad for numerous celebrities, providing a platform for contestants to showcase their personalities and gain a wider fan base. While many participants capitalized on the exposure, enjoying increased fame and opportunities post-show, some failed to maintain the attention they garnered during the competition. With the eighth edition of Bigg Boss Tamil set to premiere on October 8, hosted by Vijay Sethupathi, let's take a look at former contestants who have since faded from the limelight.

A household name, actress Namitha was a contestant in the very first season of Bigg Boss Tamil. Her entry into the house created a buzz, but despite the attention she received, it didn’t translate into long-term opportunities or sustained fame in the industry.

Known for playing villainous roles in Tamil cinema, Ponnambalam participated in season 2. Though host Kamal Haasan praised him for his action stunts during the premiere, Ponnambalam struggled to connect with the audience. He was eliminated in the second week, and his stint on the show didn’t revive his career.

Fathima, a news presenter and actress, joined the Bigg Boss Tamil house in season 3. Although her time on the show briefly highlighted her acting career, there were no notable changes or breakthroughs in her professional life following her participation.

Actress Kasthuri, a well-known name in the Tamil film industry, entered as a wildcard contestant in the third season. Despite her attempts to be a strategic player, the show did little to enhance her fame or career. Kasthuri continued to have a presence in the media but with no major impact from Bigg Boss.

Rekha, a beloved actress, faced some criticism after joining Bigg Boss Tamil 4. While she later participated in a cooking reality show, her time on Bigg Boss did not significantly benefit her career, and she was eliminated early on.

Velmurugan, famous for his folk songs, appeared as a contestant in season 4. Unfortunately, his participation did not lead to any notable shifts in his professional journey, and his popularity remained largely unchanged post-show.

Another folk singer, Chinna Ponnu, entered the Bigg Boss house in season 5. Like Velmurugan, she struggled to entertain the audience and was evicted early. Since her appearance, she has not been seen much in the entertainment space.
