Bigg Boss Tamil 4: From eviction free pass to contestants being evacuated from the house, unusual happenings of this season so far

Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 has been full of surprises so far. The show has already witnessed 'Eviction-free Pass' and many other unusual happenings.

Eviction free pass is a concept which was introduced for the first time in this season. The winner of the pass gets a chance to avoid the public voting process and prolong his stay in the house. The winner of this one-time valid pass gets immunity and can extend their stay in the house up to 10 weeks. Aajeedh Khalique, the only recipient of the pass in this season, survived elimination with this.

Nomination topple card is yet another concept that was introduced in this season in the eighth week. The nominated contestants were asked to take part in a task where they had to convince the other housemates that they are worthy of staying long in the house. The winner of this card got a chance to escape nomination and nominate any other housemate.

Anitha escaped nomination with this card. She nominated Samyuktha Karthik. However, Samyuktha got evicted in week 8.

Bigg Boss house has celebrated Ayudha Puja, Karthigai Deepam and Diwali for the first time. Earlier, the show launched in June but this season was an exception with its launch in October 4 which made the celebrations possible.

16 contestants entered the house on the premiere episode and 2 wild card contestants later. Though the show is completing the ninth week, only five contestants were evicted until now. Kamal Haasan highlighted this in the previous weekend episode. With no eviction during Deepavali week and Aajeedh surviving elimination with eviction free pass has resulted in a relatively less number of evictions.

For the first time ever, all the contestants were evacuated from the house while the show is still progressing. In the wake of cyclone Nivar, all the contestants were moved into a hotel on day 53 as a precautionary measure. They were brought back into the house the next day.

Keeping the current Covid-19 scenario in mind, live audiences during the weekend episodes were removed this season. Instead, selected audiences are being allowed to participate in the weekend episode via video calls.
