Kranti Redkar speaks up about allegations on her husband Sameer Wankhede, "Anti-Sameer people are torturing us, and we will not tolerate this"

Sameer Wankhede, Narcotics Control Bureau's zonal director, is currently heading the probe against SRK's son Aryan Khan and others following a raid on the cruise earlier this month. The zonal officer, who has been leading the drugs case investigation, recently got into the headlines after a minister of Maharashtra Nawab Malik put extortion allegations on him. Sameer's wife Kranti Redkar, who is a Marathi actress, held a press conference on Tuesday (October 26) and spoke about the allegations which have been made against her husband, Sameer Wankhede. The actress also spoke about the minister who had put allegations of extortion on the NCB officer and said that the court would give them justice.

Kranti's take on Nawab Malik's claim that Sameer Wankhede is a Muslim by birth and his real name is ‘Sameer Dawood Wankhede’

Talking about it, Kranti said, "My husband Sameer and I are born Hindus. We have never converted to any other religion. We respect all religions. Sameer’s father, too, is Hindu married to my Muslim mom-in-law who is no more. Sameer’s previous marriage was under the special marriage act, they divorced in 2016. Ours in Hindu marriage act 2017. Some anti-Sameer people are torturing us, and we will not tolerate it. But I feel time will only tell them that my husband was not wrong."

"Media trial won't help to the minister"

My father-in-law has shown everyone the certificate of our caste. We have already told everyone what was right, and we can't do this anymore. We are tired of showing the certificates and proofs to everyone even if we are not wrong. We are not going to take this anymore, and Nawab Malik has put allegations on us on Twitter, and Twitter is not a court. If Malik would put allegations on Sameer in the court and if all allegations proven right, then only the person becomes the criminal. Media trials can not help him.

I am sure Sameer will come out of it and win

Sameer has been doing his duty with sincerity for the last 15 years. We will fight with everything, and I am sure Sameer Wankhede will come out and win. I don't want to tell Nawab Malik anything; I only wish him the best and a lot of positivity.

Receiving death threats

I am so proud that I am a Maharashtrian. I feel I should feel safe in my state. I should not feel scared of anything. Yes, the anti-Sameer people have been threatening us, saying they will burn us and kill our family, but the police have given us security, and they are taking very good care of us.

They have hired a company for trolling and abusing us on social media

Nawab Malik's son-in-law Sameer Khan was recently released on bail in connection with a drug probe case. The minister had claimed that NCB officials booked Sameer under wrong charges and that no banned drug was found in his possession. Talking about it, Kranti said, "There is one thing you can think of if Sameer Wankhede leaves his position, then who will benefit? We would like to know who is behind it. Also, they have hired a company for trolling and abusing us on social media. The worst part is it is happening openly, and I am thankful for the press that they are supporting us."

Mr. Wankhede is an example of honesty and he is a very active and upright officer. A few hundred such officers can root out the menace of drug trade from the country.
