COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown affected most of the sectors in one way or the other, including the entertainment industry. Many actors run out of their financial savings, and at the same time, viewers have seen many TV shows went off-air abruptly to low TRPs or because of the financial crisis faced by the production houses. Mansi Salvi starrer suspense thriller TV show Kay Ghadla Tya Ratri ended abruptly during the lockdown. Even though it had low TRPs, the makers continued to air the show initially. Things changed recently when the restrictions were announced in the state owing to the second wave of COVID-19. The show demanded outdoor shoots but due to the restrictions in Maharashtra, it was not possible. Later, they decided to end the big-budgeted show.(PC - Instagram)

TV show Savitrijoti was based on the social activists Savitribai Phule and Jotiba Phule, who devoted their entire lives to educating women. Despite having a strong script based on a true story and talented actors in the star cast, the TV serial could not show its magic on the TRP charts. TV show Shrimanta Gharchi Suun is all set to go off-air. The love tale of Atharva and Ananya soon going to bid adieu. The show could not live up to the audience's expectations, and the makers decided to pull it off. New show Ajunahi Barsat Aahe is going to replace Shrimanta Gharchi Suun. (PC - Instagram)

Me Honaar Superstar was a reality TV show. Mrinal Kulkarni, composer-singer Rahul Deshpande, playback singer Adarsh Shinde were the judges. The show, which welcomed famous celebs as judges, failed to impress the audience. The show only aired 21 episodes and unfortunately ended midway due to the COVID19 lockdown in the state. Reality chat show Sakkhe Shejari, which was launched in January 2021 went off-air recently. Sakkhe Shejari was a chat show and it required outdoor shoots and visits to participant's houses. As the Maharashtra government has not permitted outdoor shoots in the state yet, the makers decided to end the show as of now. Ghadge and Suun actor Chinmay Udgirkar was hosting the show. Amruta Dhongade and Sachit Patil starrer new show Chandane Shimpit Jashi went off-air. The show, which launched recently, failed to top the TRP charts after the lockdown.
