Popular Marathi TV actor Kapil Honrao is currently playing the role of Malhar in the TV show Sukh Mhanje Nakki Kay Asta and entertaining the viewers. The actor's on-screen performance managed to impress the audience but very few know that Kapil hasn’t bagged this role easily. About his 11 years of struggle

Talking about his 11-year struggle, Kapil said, "Before Sukh Mhanje Nakki Kay Asta, my life was full of hurdles and struggle. It is an 11 years long struggle and hard work to get fame. So far, I have acted in 20, 25 experimental theatre plays in Marathi, Hindi, and English languages. My most popular Hindi solo play ‘Shakkar ke paanch dane' written by Manav Kaul and directed by Pradeep Varma and also got a chance to act in the Marathi film Karma Chkara (2019). I was also part of Marathi television shows like Lakshya, Prema Tuza Rang Kasa, a small track in Ganpati Bappa Morya and Lalit 205. My first TV serial in a lead role was on Doordarshan. I was seen as Marma Bandhatatli Thev He. In this struggling period, I have given around 1000 auditions and got rejected. Later, I auditioned for SMNKA during the lockdown by using my selfie stick and got selected for Malhar and my life changed."

‘My 11 years of theatre experience are helping me to understand Malhar better’

My acting style is rooted in the fundamentals of theatre. I believe that my strong foundation in this medium allows me to bring authenticity to my performances that resonate with audiences. I strive to create characters that are believable, relatable, and engaging. Malhar is a way older character than my actual age and I really loved playing this character for the last 2.5 years. Every woman wants a husband like Malhar. He loves his on-screen wife Shalini a little bit more than the Shirke Patil family because he blames himself for not giving a child to his wife. Malhar gave me maturity and patience in my real life also.

About working experience with Varsha Usgaonkar and Mahesh Kothare

I am glad to work with them in the same project. I have grown up watching their films. Mahesh sir is a very dynamic and energetic person. I love all his films but my most favorite is Dhadakebaz. On the other hand, Varsha Usgaonkar ma'am is playing my on-screen mother. It's going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. She embodies beauty and glamour, and she is a timeless epitome of grace and effortless style.

About his on-screen chemistry with Maadhavi Nimkar

Kapil is playing the role of Malhar and actress Maadhavi is playing the role of his on-screen wife Shalini. Talking about the chemistry, Kapil said, "I am really happy that people love our Jodi. We share great chemistry together. Maadhavi Nimkar is the most popular villain on Marathi television. She is a very sensible and very talented actress. She is a wonderful person and human being. I love having her as my co-star."

Future projects…

Along with SMNKA, one of my Marathi films, is going to release this year along with Chirag Patil. I like to surprise people with the fact that I can do something that they did not expect from me as an actor. I want to be an action hero and utilize my personality and aura in the right place.
