Exclusive - People say actresses can't be friends, but we proved them wrong: Neena Kulkarni on besties Bharti Achrekar, Vandana Gupte and others

Veteran Marathi actresses like Neena Kulkarni, Bharti Acharekar, Vandana Gupte, and others who once ruled an era have time and again proved the saying that actresses couldn't be friends wrong. In an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, renowned actress Neena Kulkarni spoke about her friendship with her BFFs, their companionship, and why she thinks it is a mere notion that actresses can't be friends.

Friends Squad

Talking about Neena Kulkarni's girl squad which includes Bharti Acharekar, Vandana Gupte, Medha Manjarekar, Swati Chitnis, and Suhas Joshi and others, she said, "I am really proud that we all are actresses and beyond everything best friends. Bharti Acharekar, Vandana Gupte, and myself. We've grown up together but I am glad that the competition or jealousy never creeped into our friendship. Actresses can never be friends, it's just a myth. We are an example. Actresses can be besties and their friendship can last longer."

At this stage of life, we are there for each other

I feel right now, we are all at the stage where only happiness matters, and we try to enjoy the most whenever we meet. The way we laugh and share all the small things with each other is indeed a blessing. I feel blessed to have these trusted and caring friends with me.

Companionship

A friend of your age can only understand what you are going through. If I ever feel tired, others might think it's just a routine work-stress but only my friend and actresses Vandana and Swati knows better why I am really tired. Your friend knows you better than others. We are blessed that we are together for each other at this stage of our lives.

Friends' help during COVID-19

When COVID-19 affected my family, I was away but my friend Medha Manjarekar helped me during that phase. She sent meals to my family and so did Bharti Acharekar. True friends are the ones who help you through thick and thin, and I am so thankful that such friends exist in my life.

Remembering late friends Reema Lagoo and Smita Talwalkar

Reema and I have shared good memories together. We have always bonded well. We have shared our joys and sorrows with each other. We used to discuss our work and spent good time. On the other hand, my friend and actress Smita Talwalkar was also so close to me. I have kept their memories and friendship in my heart and will always be there. (PC - Instagram)
