Exclusive- 'I love challenges and getting under the skin of the character,' says Shivani Rangole

Marathi actress Shivani Rangole is grabbing eyeballs with her performance as Vaibhavi in the popular TV show Sang Tu Aahes Ka. From trimming her hair to learning to ride a scooter, the actress is trying her best to get under the skin of her character. In an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, Shivani Rangole spoke about her journey from playing Ramabai Ambedkar to Vaibhavi, her transformation, and why she prefers to do everything possible to live her characters.

On playing Ramabai Ambedkar

Talking about playing the role of Ramabai Ambedkar on-screen, wife of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Shivani said, "Basically, I like challenges. I have played a compassionate yet emotional role of Ramabai Ambedkar in Mahamanavachi Gauravgatha. Ramabai was an inspiration. Ramabai's character had various shades yet there was stability. So, I focused on that character completely."

3/6

Transforming from Ramabai to Vaibhavi

Shivani is now playing a completely unique character named 'Vaibhavi' in Sang Tu Aahes ka. Talking about it, she said, "I am doing a completely different character Vaibhavi in Sang Tu Aahes Ka. So, it's definitely pushing my limits. Ramabai's character was very different. When my TV show Mahamanavachi Gauravgatha went off-air, I changed my look and tried to mold into Vaibhavi. Vaibhavi's personality is also very complex. I think as an actor, you should give your 100 percent and try to do everything to find that persona."

4/6

About her preparation for the character

The actress is trying her best to get under the skin of her on-screen character Vaibhavi. Shivani learned to ride a scooter and chopped off her hair for the role. Speaking about the same, Shivani added, "There are many scenes of mine in the show where I am riding a scooter. So, I decided to learn it practically. We also had various techniques to cover those scooter scenes so that the audience won't notice, but I decided to ride physically. I believe in a strong performance and try my best to keep it natural and realistic."

'I love to explore various shades of the character'

Sang Tu Aahes Ka is a crime thriller, and when I heard about this, I got really excited that I was about to do something unique again after Ramabai. As I said, I love to explore various shades of the character. Our entire team of Sang Tu Aahes is very supportive and we do have a lot fun on the sets.

Bond with Virajas Kulkarni

Actor Virajas Kulkarni and Shivani Rangole hogged the limelight at Siddharth and Mitali's wedding with mushy pictures. Shivani's fans are curious to know about her relationship with Virajas. Talking about her bond with Virajas, Shivani said, "Yes, we are really good friends and really love each other's company. But I want people to continue speculating about our relationship and guess about us. There is fun in it (laughs). We had a lot of fun at Siddharth-Mitali's wedding. Yes, we matched our outfits for that special occasion. I want people to keep guessing. I don't want to reveal more (laughs)."
