TV host Ranjini Haridas on lockdown: Use this period as a ‘me-time,’ for which we craved during our busy lives.

TV host Ranjini Haridas seems to be busy enjoying her 'me-time'. Staying alone at her flat, she has picked up quite a few new skills during the ongoing 21-day lockdown. In a conversation with Kochi Times, the chirpy anchor has candidly spoken on how she is keeping herself busy in this quarantine time.

Being someone who loves to live alone, it’s not strange for me

"I am just in the company of my puppy, Buddy, at my flat while my mom and brother are at our house in Kadavanthra. When the lockdown was announced, I decided I’m not going to sit at home idle. So, I’m trying new many new things. Being someone who loves to live alone, it’s not strange for me and I have done it around 15 years ago when I was in the UK," she said.

I hated cooking before but now, it’s a necessity

Mentioning that 21 days are enough to start a new habit, Ranjini shared about how she is trying her culinary skills. "I hated cooking before but now, as it’s a necessity, I am into it and have made prawns curry, beans fry, kovakka fry, noodle soup, masala dosa and more! At times things have got burnt too," she laughed.

I have also learnt the basics of video editing and other technical aspects

"I have even uploaded a few of their videos on my Youtube channel for self-motivation. While my brother Sreepriyan used to edit and grade my videos before and helped me with my vlog, I try to do them all by myself now as my net connection is poor. I have also learnt the basics of video editing and other technical aspects involved," Ranjini added.

Use this period as a ‘me-time’

Reminding people to take necessary precautions for the pandemic, Ranjini suggested all to make use of the lockdown period as a 'me-time'.

"Let’s ensure social distancing and sanitizing, and use this period as a ‘me-time,’ for which we craved during our busy lives," she said.

We can beat Corona

"Watching people who aren’t observing social distancing and the spread of misinformation on the usage of masks disturb me. I also hope people understand panic buying isn’t necessary, as enough supplies would be available in shops. Officials are urging us to stay indoors for the first time forced by this never-before situation and if we follow simple measures, we can beat coronavirus," Ranjini shared.
