Along with the appreciation for their exceptional contributions to the industry, some Malayalam TV actors were also been caught on the wrong side of the law. From sexual assault allegations to drug cases, here is a list of Malayalam TV celebs who were in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.

In 2016, both Dhanya and her husband John landed in a huge controversy regarding a real estate fraud case. Reportedly, the actress was arrested for financial fraud of Rs 130 crore.

Malayalam TV actress Nithya Sasi and a friend got arrested after allegedly honey-trapping a senior citizen and swindling Rs 11 lakh from him. Nithya and her friend Biny were arrested as per the complaint received from a 75-year-old man from Thiruvananthapuram. As per the complaint lodged on July 18 at the Paravur police station, the duo captured his n**e visuals of the complainant, threatened him, and swindled around Rs 11 lakh from him.

Comedy Stars fame and actor Binu B. Kamal found himself in legal trouble after being apprehended on charges of alleged misbehavior and sexual assault towards a female passenger on a KSRTC bus.

Bigg Boss fame Sobha Viswanath landed in a huge controversy in 2021. Sobha was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on January 31, 2021, after 480 grams of ganja were seized from her clothing store in Thiruvananthapuram. Following the incident, Sobha had written to the Chief Minister of Kerala and the Director General of Police, seeking justice. The CM then ordered a Crime Branch inquiry into the matter. Later, it was proven that the case was framed by a male friend who was reportedly stalking her, for rejecting his proposal.

Model and Star Magic fame Shiyas Kareem got nabbed from Chennai following an alleged sexual assault case filed by a female gym trainer a couple of months back. The allegations against Shiyas include multiple instances of sexual assault, during which he allegedly made promises of marriage to the complainant. It is claimed that Shiyas impregnated the woman and coerced her into undergoing an abortion. Additionally, the complainant has accused Shiyas of engaging in fraudulent activities amounting to Rs 11 lakh.
