Played by Anju Aravind, Sudhamani is also a strong bold lady who struggles to meet the needs of her family after the elopement of her husband. The Malayalam remake of the popular Hindi show, 'Anupamaa', 'Kudumbavilakku' portrays the life of Sumithra. Played by Meera Vasudevan, Sumithra goes through the hardships of learning about her husband's extramarital affair, divorcing him, and gaining hatred even from her family. However, the character stays as a motivation for independent women as Sumithra becomes a successful entrepreneur after the divorce.
