From sharing the load of household chores to learning new skills: Tips from BB Malayalam contestants to make lockdown phase productive

While the nation is in lockdown, Kochi Times spoke to some Bigg Boss Malayalam 2 contestants who were in a somehow similar situation when they were cut off from the world, locked up inside the BB house. Here are their tips to make the best use of one’s time during the lockdown days.

Alina Padikkal

"Wake up with a fresh mind. In our busy lives, both men and women don’t get enough time to take care of our bodies, so this is the time to pamper it. We often forget to drink enough water. Let’s compensate for it all, this summer. Parents should indulge in some open talk with their kids and learn more about their issues and ambitions," TV host Alina Padikkal said.

"Those with backyards at home should try organic farming. It’s good exercise and can freshen up our minds too. Do you have pets at home? Take better care of them. One can also use online videos to pick up new skills like video editing, clay modelling etc. Try those cool DIY craft making videos too," the young social media sensation suggested.

Raghu

"We can teach our parents to use social media and smartphones. Many of us don’t pay attention to their requests to teach them, often. The lockdown period can be used to upgrade their skills, teach them how to make a video call, share photos on WhatsApp, take photos or videos, create a social media account," Raghu said. He also suggested using this time to finish off something we had kept for later.

Arya

"In the Bigg Boss house, we used to engage in many fun group activities like the naadan kalikal from the days of yore. I think we can use this lockdown time to bond with our children and parents, playing those old-time games like kuttiyum kolum, kallanum policeum, name-place-thing, rock-paper-scissors, hide and seek, musical chairs, passing the parcel and more. They can keep us engaged for hours," Arya said.

Abhirami Suresh

"I think this is the best time for introspection. The doors of our houses might be closed, but we can open those to our souls and analyse ourselves. We can also brush up our forgotten talents from school days, like drawing, poetry writing, etc. We can try to understand how our moms manage household chores, help them and not complain about their efforts from now on," the singer suggested.
