Bigg Boss Malayalam 7 contestant Oneal Sabu: Food critic, culinary anthropologist, who is this FC Boy?

Ever since Oneal Sabu’s name started circulating as a potential contestant on Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7, fans have been asking—Who is Oneal Sabu? Here’s everything you need to know about this unique and passionate personality.

2/7

From Lawyer to Food Lover

Oneal Sabu holds a postgraduate degree in Law (LLM in Maritime Law) from Southampton, United Kingdom. He worked as a lawyer for nearly a decade, but in 2017, he made a bold decision to leave his legal career behind to pursue his true passion: food.

3/7

A Food Critic with a Flair for Storytelling

Oneal began his food journey by writing about his favorite dishes, which soon evolved into a popular food blog. He later transitioned to video content, and his food vlogs quickly gained attention for their engaging storytelling and cultural insights. Though he once opened his own restaurant, it was short-lived. Still, his influence in Kerala’s food scene continued to grow.
He is one of the founding members of Eat Kochi Eat, Kerala’s largest online food community, which connects food lovers across the state.

4/7

Culinary Anthropologist

Not content with just tasting food, Oneal delved into the history and culture behind it. As a self-taught culinary anthropologist, he has dedicated himself to studying the roots of traditional cuisine, especially from his hometown, Cochin, which played a vital role in the maritime spice trade dating back to the 16th century. He has represented Cochin’s lesser-known cuisine in various capacities—as a chef, influencer, historian, anthropologist, and activist—collaborating with chefs, mixologists, restaurateurs, and farmers to preserve and promote culinary heritage.

5/7

The 'FC Boy' and Cultural Explorer

Affectionately known as the "FC Boy" (Fort Cochin Boy), Oneal is deeply connected to the heritage and cultural vibrancy of Fort Kochi. His innovative initiatives like Spook Trail Walk – Colonial Crawlies, Community Mesa, and Phantasma have become online sensations. In "Colonial Crawlies," a midnight heritage walk, he leads participants through the eerie streets of Fort Kochi, sharing lesser-known spooky tales and mysteries tied to the area’s colonial past.

6/7

Author of 'Soul Fried Monologues'

Oneal is also an author. His book Soul Fried Monologues is a flavorful collection of his food adventures—blending lip-smacking dishes with the rich stories behind them. The book has become a favorite among food lovers for its heartfelt narrative and unique perspective on culinary experiences.

7/7

Oneal Steps In

Oneal has officially entered the Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 house, becoming the first-ever food blogger to join the show. With his unique background and vibrant personality, he’s all set to stir things up and make his mark in the Bigg Boss kitchen — and beyond.
