Dhanya Mary Varghese is one of the popular faces among the Malayali audience. Be it movies or TV shows, Dhanya had made her mark in both industries.
Dhanya started her career as a junior artist. Later, she forayed into main stream movies with her lead character in the Tamil movie 'Thirudi'. She made her Malayalam debut with the film 'Nanma'. However, she gained much attention with her characters in movies like 'Vajram' and 'Thalappavu'.Dhanya also played meaty roles in popular films like 'Drona', 'Kerala Cafe', 'Pranayam' and more.

Dhanya made her Malayalam TV debut with the show 'Daivathinte Swantham Devootty' and later, she was seen in 'Kaligandaki'. However, she became a household name with her titular character Seetha in 'Seetha Kalyanam'. Even though the show had gone off-air, she is still loved for her character.
After 'Seetha Kalyanam', Dhanya was seen as a contestant in the adventure show 'Bhayam' in which she was crowned the winner as well.
On the personal front, Dhanya is married to TV actor-dancer John and the duo has a son. Dhanya, who is also a dancer, enjoys a huge fan following for her dance videos with her hubby.

In 2016, both Dhanya and John landed in a huge controversy in connection with a real estate fraud case. Reportedly, the actress was arrested for an alleged financial fraud of Rs 130 crore.
