Gattimela's Sahithya aka Sharanya Shetty to make her silver screen debut; here's what the actress has to say

Sharanya Shetty, who shot to fame with her on-screen character 'Sahithya' of Gattimela, is all set to make her silver screen debut. While she is excited about the same, Etimes TV got in touch with the actress for a candid chat.

This is my debut on the Kannada silver screen and I am excited about it. I portray the character of 'Saanvi' in the movie. Saanvi is a very chirpy girl, she is talkative and a very friendly teenager. She is also carefree, yet very fierce as well. So, it was really fun portraying the character of Saanvi in the movie.

Playing the role of Saanvi was fun yet challenging for me. I was also skeptical in terms of acting. Sometimes, being too childish on-screen might get on to the nerves of the viewers. They don't really accept it that way as well. So, I had to cut down on my expressions as well. I have focused on subtle acting throughout the movie.

It is a star-studded movie, which narrates about the parallel universe. The movie has Priyanka Upendra ma'am in the lead. We also have ace actor Shankar Ashwath sir in the movie. He plays the role of my on-screen father in the movie. There are also a bunch of other actors as well in the movie.

Working with Priyanka Upendra ma'am on my debut movie is bliss. I felt very excited and overwhelmed after learning that I will be sharing the screen space with Priyanka ma'am. Shooting with Priyanka ma'am was one of the best things that could happen in my career.

I am eagerly waiting for the launch of my debut movie. The team is planning for a theatrical release soon. Having shot for a daily soap, I am used to seeing the end product on-air within a week's time. It's like if I have shot for a particular scene today, the episode featuring me would go on-air within a few days. It would hardly take a week. On the other hand, the shooting of my debut movie was wrapped a year ago. So, it has been a long wait. The long wait is something new to me.

Although I have been a part of successful shows like Gattimela, my silver screen debut is special to another level. The thought of people paying money to watch you on the silver screen is giving me goosebumps. It is a surreal feeling. I am just waiting for the reviews when the movie is launched. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

I do have a few projects lined up. I have signed a movie alongside my Gattimela co-star Abhishek Das. We will be seen together in two movies actually. That's about it as of now. Apart from it, I just wish that my silver screen debut gives me a good break in my career.
