The latest episode of the singing reality show Edhe Thumbi Haaduvenu witnessed the team paying a soulful tribute to the Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar, who breathed his last due to a heart attack. He was 46. While the episode was one of the most emotional ones, a lot of facts about the late actor were also revealed by the judges and the special guests of the show. Ede Tumbi Haaduvenu team paid a soulful tribute to Puneeth Rajkumar with the contestants performing to his popular songs and the judges sharing their memories about him.

Fondly known as Appu by fans, Puneeth Rajkumar was initially named as 'Lohith Rajkumar' by his parents. However, the family members decided to change his name to Puneeth. Considering the fact that the legendary king Harishchandra's (from the Ikshvaku dynasty) son was also named Lohith, Puneeth's family members changed his name since Lohith is referred to as a person who is expected to have a minimum life expectancy. Judge Gurukiran who is also Puneeth's close friend revealed the same in the latest episode of Edhe Thumbi Haadivenu. Gurukiran narrated how the power star was renamed, Puneeth Rajkumar.

Puneeth Rajkumar attended Gurukiran's birthday bash the previous night of breathing his last. The late actor enjoyed with the other celebrity guests and was by Gurukiran's side when the latter cut his birthday cake. Having spent such a wonderful time at night and waking up to the news of his beloved buddy breathing his last was a shocker to Gurukiran. The judge stared shedding tears as he recalled all the happy moments spent with his bestie.

Puneeth Rajkumar attended Gurukiran's birthday bash on the night before he could succumb to a heart attack. Speaking about the same, judge Rajesh Krishnan revealed his regret for not attending the party now as he missed a chance to meet Appu for one last time in his life. Rajesh Krishnan mentioned that he could not attend the part as he had other commitments.

Raghu Dixit might have not got a chance to work with the Power Star but the music director was indeed lucky enough to spend some quality time whenever they met in events. Sharing one of the recent incidents with everyone Raghu Dixit mentioned, "During the premiere show of the movie 'Ninna Sanihake', Appu anna took my mobile and saved his personal number in it. He asked me to meet him for a possible collaboration. I regret missing this opportunity to get in touch with him. He was like my elder brother and I addressed him as Anna," (sic).

Kannada actor and Majaa Talkies host Srujan Lokesh has always shared a close bond with Puneeth Rajkumar. Srujan who was the special guest of the music reality show stated that he failed to believe that Puneeth Rajkumar succumbed to a heart attack until he saw him resting in peace in peace in the hospital bed. Srujan also took a stroll down the memory and recalled all the good times spent with the late actor in his life. Srujan also mentioned the time spent with Puneeth Rajkumar when he was the guest of Majaa Talkies.

Renowned actress Anu Prabhakar will be seen sharing the screen with the late actor in the upcoming movie which is likely to be released in 2022. The actress went down memory lane and remembered a moment when Puneeth rehearsed a dance exactly an hour before they could go on stage to perform. Although she mentioned that she was a little nervous, Anu added saying that Puneeth thought her the dance steps in an easier way.

"I was in Thirupathi when I learned the news of Appu passing away. I felt as if a heavy mountain just slid over. Appu always loved me. He always wanted to promote true talent. Appu is a great loss to the industry," said the ace filmmaker as she suffered an emotional breakdown remembering Puneeth Rajkumar.

Actress Tara is still unable to come to terms with the loss of a great artist. Speaking about it, she said, "The previous night of Puneeth passing away, I had a fun chat with him and his wife. His death news was a shocker to me. I felt as if Appu has gone to hug the gods high up there. He was a very simple man with good human values.
