On Thursday (April 8), Kannada actress, writer, and former Bigg Boss Kannada season 7 contestant Chaitra Kotoor reportedly attempted suicide at her residence. Soon after the incident, Chaitra was rushed to a local hospital where her condition is stated to be stable.

Speaking exclusively with ETimes TV, Chaitra's father reacted to his daughter's present health condition. "Chaitra is stable and out of danger now. She has gone through a lot of mental trauma in the past few days. I am just hoping that she will recover soon and get normal. The doctors have kept her under observation. Hopefully, Chaitra should get discharged tomorrow."

The actress recently made headlines regarding her marriage with beau Nagarjun, a Mandya-based businessman. Chaitra's marriage was complicated from day one as the groom's family refused to accept her.

Soon after the marriage, Nagarjun made allegations that he was 'forced by some people' to marry Chaitra against his wishes. He also alleged that he succumbed to the pressure of some groups and had to tie the knot as he was locked and forced to marry Chaitra Kotoor.

The groom's family members lodged a complaint against Chaitra at the Women's Police Station in Kolar. The cops advised both the families to hold talks instead of indulging in mudslinging acts. However, the groom remained firm stating that he marry her against her will.

"We have not heard anything from the boy's side so far. We were supposed to visit the ACP's office, Kolar yesterday itself for further talks to settle the issue. But since Chaitra took a drastic step, we could not make it. We were held up in the hospital itself. So, once she is back to normal we will be able to look into it and take further decisions," mentioned Narayanappa to ETimes TV.

On March 28, a photograph of Chaitra marrying Nagarjun at a temple had gone viral, among other pictures of the marriage. She was reportedly in a relationship with Nagarjuna for the past couple of years.
