Bigg Boss Kannada 8: Times when Bigg Boss introduced shocking twists in the game

Bigg Boss Kannada season 8 which returned to the small screen after a long gap has got the viewers hooked to it. While the show is not just a home for endless drama, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to spice it up by introducing frequent tweaks and turns. In fact, the on-going season has been witnessing a lot of twists ever since its premiere. Here is a list of a few shocking twists in Bigg Boss Kannada 8 so far.

The premiere of Bigg Boss Kannada 8 indeed started with a big twist. During the season's premiere, Bigg Boss asked host Kiccha Sudeep to hide seventeen balls inside the glasshouse as a task. He also informed the host that a big twist awaits the contestant who finds the ball first.

A day after the premiere, Bigg Boss finally revealed the secret behind the seventeen green balls which were hidden by host Sudeep during the grand launch. As Dhanushree distributed the green balls to each contestant, the housemates were asked to form a team according to the colour of the keys hidden inside the green balls. Interestingly, since there were five inmates who had the red keys, Bigg Boss revealed the second secret and mentioned that the team with five contestants was eligible for the captaincy task.

For the first time in the history of Bigg Boss Kannada, the show witnessed an open nomination on the premiere week itself. The contestants were asked to nominate their inmates in the garden area in front of everyone.

Interestingly, the nominated contestants of the first week had the opportunity to transfer their nominations to a candidate who was in the safe zone. All they had to do was challenge their co-contestants for a task initiated by Bigg Boss. The contestant who would win in the task was announced as safe from nominations and vice versa.

Considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Bigg Boss initiated a task named 'Lockdown', where Team 'Humans' were asked to protect themselves from Team 'Virus'. Although the contestants jostled at each other during the task, Team 'Virus' decided to have a fair game as things were going out of control. Devastated by their opponent team's strategy, Team Virus opted to give up simultaneously as the task progressed. In a shocking turn of events, irked by the careless behaviour of the contestants during the task, Bigg Boss called off the 'Lockdown' task. He mentioned that he is upset with the performance of the contestants in the task as they did not show any sportsman spirit in it. Hence, Bigg Boss terminated the task mid-way.

Devastated by the previous day's performance by the contestants during the task, Bigg Boss did not give them a wake-up buzz in the morning. There was no music played to wake up the contestants inside the Bigg Boss house. Only lights were on. The contestants woke up by themselves.

Unlike the previous seasons, where the contestants were asked to felicitate an inmate they like and apply grease to the ones they dislike, Bigg Boss introduced a new twist to the activity. The contestants were asked to only apply grease to the candidate they were unhappy with their performance in the 'Lockdown' task. This decision was taken by Bigg Boss only on the basis of the performance of the contestants during the lockdown task.

The contestants, who were greased by their inmates, were refrained from taking part in the upcoming captaincy task. Bigg Boss made it clear that they will not be eligible to perform the captaincy task as they earned more dislikes from their inmates.

Shamanth Gowda aka Bro Gowda received a warning ticket from the host for whispering into housemates' ears inside the Bigg Boss house. Sudeep mentioned that avoiding the mic while conversing with his inmates is indeed a serious violation. This took a new turn when the housemates were left with just two options from the host. Sudeep asked the housemates to either opt to sleep outside the bedroom for a week or nominate Shamanth directly to the upcoming week. After discussing for a while, the housemates unanimously decided to save Shamanth and opted to sleep outside the bedroom.
