With Disha Vakani aka Dayaben still missing; here are actors who replaced popular roles in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been in news for Disha Vakani’s character as Dayaben still missing and netizens have been trending ‘Boycott TMKOC’. With Dayaben still missing from the show, a new actor has joined the cast of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Monaz Mevawalla will now be seen in the role of Mrs. Sodhi in the show, which was previously played by Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal. Here’s a look at the actors, who replaced popular characters in the show.

Mrs. Roshan Singh Sodhi was previously played by Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal for 13 years, who made a dramatic exit after a fallout with the makers. Actor Monaz Mevawalla, who will now be seen in Mrs. Sodhi, said, "I am thrilled and proud to be part of the TMKOC family. I love the role and am grateful to Mr.Modi for this opportunity. I'll put all my energy and heart into this character. Having previously worked with Mr.Modi, I love his passion and dedication for every TMKOC member for the past 15 years. I’m sure that all the TMKOC fans will shower me their love and support.”

Taarak Mehta’s role was played by Shailesh Lodha since the show’s inception. However, he too had a fallout with the makers regarding payment issues. Sachin Shroff took over Taarak Mehta’s role last year.

Tapu aka Tipendra’s role was previously played by Bhavya Gandhi and Raj Anadkat. Both quit the show owing to personal and professional reasons. Nitish Bhaluni got roped in to play the role of Tapu.

Previously played by Neha Mehta, Sunayana Fozdar took over Mrs. Anjali Mehta’s role. Sunayana has been a part of the show since 2020.

Sonu is a very popular role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Sonu’s role was previously portrayed by Jheel Mehta and Nidhi Bhanushali. Now Palak Sindhwani has been playing the role of Sonu Bhide.

Dr. Hathi’s role was played by Kavi Kumar Azad. But after his sudden demise in 2018, Nirmal Soni took over the role.

Gurucharan Singh was a part of the popular sitcom for a long time as Mr. Sodhi. However, he decided to leave the show due to his dad’s health issues. He was later replaced by Balvinder Singh in 2020. Incidentally, Balvinder did a small cameo as Sodhi’s friend in 2019.
