When Rahul Mahajan spoke about his Russian wife Natalya converting to Hindu religion, previous two marriages and more
Rahul Mahajan is enjoying his marital bliss with wife Natalya. The couple, who were last seen in reality show Smart Jodi, had opened up for the first time about their marriage on national television. Rahul revealed a lot about their age-gap, which is much talked about, why he was extremely private about the wedding, his previous two marriages and more.
Rahul Mahajan on his wife Natalya being 18 years younger to him
Speaking on the Smart Jodi stage about how he met Natalya and approached her despite their age difference, Rahul said, “So Natalya thought of setting me up with her mom, because the age gap was less. Natalya and I have an age gap of 18 years.” Natalya replies, “My mom is hot.” Rahul says, “I made an idea that she will also look hot when she is of her mother’s age.”
On his previous 2 marriages
When host Maniesh Paul asked Rahul on the show, “If something happens for the first time, it is called an accident. If it happens again, people call it a coincidence. By the third time, it becomes a habit. So Rahul, has getting married become a habit?” Rahul responded by saying, “When you see such a beautiful bride, who wouldn’t want to get married."
Natalya’s reaction to Rahul’s previous two marriages
Natalya shared in Smart Jodi, “His two previous marriages were very short. It didn’t bother me much because it was more like a short term relationship than a marriage for him. Just in a few months of marriage, you can’t call it a marriage. And even in a few years of marriage, it’s not a marriage. Marriage is something deeper.” For the unversed, Rahul was previously married to Shweta Singh and Dimpy Ganguly.
The couple’s religious beliefs
Speaking to ETimes TV long back, Rahul had mentioned, “She is a Russian and has converted to Hindu religion and I always give her the reference of Lord Shiva and Parvati. I always tell her that husband and wife’s relationship should be like Shiv and Parvati. We keep them as our idols in our relationship. I teach her Geeta and we read a lot of mythological stuff together. I feel you really need a good destiny to find a perfect partner and family.”
On the hush-hush intimate wedding
Rahul said on Smart Jodi, “My first two weddings were telecast live. So I felt logon ki nazar lagegi and it might get ruined. So this time I thought of having a low profile wedding. There are some four-five temples in Malabar Hills in Mumbai, and we got married in the middle of those temples. Our pandit ji said in 6000 years, aisi kundali kisi ki nhi milti jitni hamari mili thi. I kept 10-15 people as guards so that no photos were clicked. And now there are so few photos that I don’t have photos to show anyone.”
Rahul on marrying for the fourth time
During a game of seeing the future, Rahul is asked if he will get married for the fourth time, he answers, “Yes, I will marry for the fourth time…with Natalya once again. The channel will get us married.”
On family planning
Rahul says, “I have such a beautiful wife, we should have 10-12 kids.” Natalya replies, “Definitely, we can adopt.”
