Bigg Boss 19 fame Pranit More is currently facing criticism over a controversial remark made by an audience member during his show. The controversy began after audience member Himanshu Jhangra implied that paying for a date entitled him to intimacy. As criticism against Pranit More grows, social media users have recalled a past moment between him and Bigg Boss 19 host Salman Khan. This is not the first time that Pranit has courted controversy. In the past as well, the stand-up comedian has faced criticism for his jokes and comments. During Bigg Boss 19, where Pranit was a contestant, Bollywood actor and host Salman Khan reportedly warned him about his jokes. Those old clips have now resurfaced online.During one of his crowd interaction, he reportedly noticed a woman wearing a bracelet similar to Salman Khan's iconic turquoise bracelet and asked if she had ever visited the actor's Panvel farmhouse. Many viewers felt the joke was inappropriate and criticised him for it. The controversy eventually reached the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, where Salman Khan addressed the matter in front of everyone.Salman Khan schooled Pranit More for his jokes and stated that comedy should not be below the belt, "Mujhe pata hai aapne mere upar kya kya bola hai jo sahi nahi hai.
Jo jokes aapne maare hain mere upar, agar aap meri jagah hote aur main andar aapki jagah hota toh aap kaise react karte?” He further added, “Tab aapko logon ko hasana tha mera naam use karke, aapne woh kiya. I just think you should not go below the belt.”During the interaction, Salman praised Kapil Sharma and Krushna Abhishek, saying, “Even Kapil and Krushna do comedy but not like this. If you go below the belt in the house, the contestants won’t accept it because they are not as understanding as me. If someone wants to use my name to earn money, then so be it.”Salman Khan's old warning has gone viral again after the recent controversy. Many social media users believe it serves as a reminder that comedians should be mindful of the impact of their jokes. The controversy started during Pranit's Gurugram show, one audience member, Himanshu shared an anecdote from his dating incident. While sharing a personal experience, he spoke about expecting physical intimacy after taking a woman on a date and paying for her Rs 370 biryani. He did not stop there; his comments suggested he expected compensation for the amount he spent on the meal. He said, “Maine kaha ki Rs 370 lage hain to usse to vasool to karunga hi.After the controversy erupted, Pranit allegedly deactivated his Instagram account. Earlier, this month, the stand-up comedian issued a public apology after the controversy. His post read, “I’ve seen the criticism regarding a recent crowdwork clip. The comments made by the audience member do not reflect my views. Looking back, I should have challenged the remark instead of laughing and moving on. That was a lapse in judgement on my part. Live crowdwork often involves reacting in real time, but that’s not an excuse. I take the feedback seriously and will be more thoughtful in how I handle similar situations going forward. We’ve also removed the video from all our platforms, as I don’t want to amplify or normalize those views.”He added, “I appreciate everyone who raised their concerns respectfully. I sincerely apologize for whatever happened, and I’ll take this lesson forward. I’m human, and like anyone else, I’m constantly learning. Being called out when I get something wrong doesn’t make me smaller, but helps me grow. I accept that I could have handled this better, and I’ll be more mindful to never unintentionally support or normalize such views in the future.Pranit More was last seen in controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 19 and emerged as the second runner-up.
