Waliv Police awaiting Pearl V Puri's COVID-19 test results

TV actor Pearl V Puri, who was arrested on Friday afternoon by the

Waliv Police

(Vasai) under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, in a 2019 case, will be taken to Thane jail after his RT-PCR test comes negative.

Pearl was remanded to a 14-day judicial custody on Saturday.

DCP Sanjay Patil

(Zone 2, Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar), said, "We are awaiting the COVID-19 test results. Once the test results are negative, he will be shifted to Thane Jail. Currently, he is at the Waliv police station."

Meanwhile, Pearl's lawyer had applied for bail. DCP Patil said, "The accused's lawyer had applied for bail today and the hearing is on Friday."

Pearl was last seen in the TV show Brahmarakshas 2 and he has played the lead in many TV shows like Badatameez Dil, Nagarjuna, Bepannah Pyaar, Naagin 3 and Meri Sasu Maa. Pearl has also participated in reality shows like Kitchen Champion 5,

Khatra Khatra Khatra

and Box Cricket League 4.

Pearl started his career as a model and then moved on to doing television shows. His father wanted him to join family business, but he wanted to pursue his passion to become an actor. In Oct 2020, the actor lost his father when he suffered a heart attack, and Pearl had to visit his hometown, Agra to perform his last rites.

In 2015, Pearl was linked with his co-actor Asmita Sood, but within a year, they parted ways. His role as Mahir in Naagin 3 and chemistry with actress Surbhi Jyoti was appreciated by masses.
