#Holi2022: TV celebs talk about their favorite Bollywood Holi sequences

The idea of Indian Holi is also inspired by how it has been shown in Bollywood, right from the classic Amitabh Bachchan’s Rang Barse to the newer versions of Holi party in films like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewan. We spoke to telly actors who shared their plans for the day and the Holi sequence from films which are their all-time favourite.

2/9

Sharad Malhotra

My favourite is the iconic Gabbar Singh line 'Holi kab hai?' And the Holi Ke Din Dil Khil Jaate Hain) from Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay has a special place in my heart. The song has a different aura altogether. This Holi, I will be with my family, will apply rang to each other and will spend some quality time.

3/9

Rishina Kandhari

I love Holi and all holi sequences are my favorite. My friends and I used to go crazy dancing and playing with color on Holi. Recently, a very different song from toilet Ek Prem Katha - Gori Tu Latth Maar caught my attention because of which I actually wanted to go to Barsana to play latth maar holi. I will do it next year. This year I’m still a little worried bout the whole COVID situation. So I have decided to give Holi a pass this time.

4/9

Pranav Misshra

In the film Badrinath Ki Dulhania the title song which had the two lead actors playing Holi come in the post-credit roll, but it was a happy number that ended the film on a positive note. I loved the song and the chemistry of Varun-Alia is just awesome. This Holi I will be shooting, so my holi will be with my cast and crew.

5/9

Vijayendra Kumeria

An obsessed lover smitten by Juhi Chawla in the film Darr, he dares to smear her with colour during the festival, scaring her further, as she senses his touch for the first time. And after the Holi song is over, Sunny chases Shah Rukh. I find the song sequence very engaging.

This Holi I am celebrating with my wife and daughter. I am shooting shoot, so I will play with my cast too post-shooting

6/9

Aditya Deshmukh

Apart from Rang Barse and Balam Pichkari, my most favourite iconic Holi scene in Bollywood has to be from the movie Raanjhanaa. In the movie, writer Himanshu Sharma had beautifully created a grand Holi sequence, capturing the intensity, and bhang-induced madness of Banaras' traditional Holi. I can't forget the high energy Holi sequence filled with madness.

7/9

Jasmin Bhasin

My favourite scene is from Baghban - the Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini song Holi Khele Raghuveera showed the lead players’ family happily celebrating together before a crisis happens that changes their lives forever.

This Holi I would love to play with my close circle of friends and I don’t mind eating some sweets as well.

8/9

Hemant Chaddha

One of the most interesting features of the Indian colour festival is how joyful and carefree it is. It's just a day of enjoying the moment. I would like to attend a Holi party and everyone is in the mood, where there are non-toxic colours being offered, as well as bhang and lassi, apart from street cuisine. The event attracts a large number of people. And talking about the Holi sequence in Bollywood movies, it has to be Do Me A Favour Let's Play Holi. It is one of my favourite Holi songs. This Holi song was a guaranteed hit because of the sizzling chemistry between Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra.

9/9

Hansa Singh

My favorite Holi sequence is Rang Barse at any given moment. The Holi song that ruled in the 70s and 80s is 'Aaj Na Chodenge'. This song from the film Kati Patang will give you a lot of Holi vibes. I am a typical colour and water kind of person when it comes to Holi. But now less water is the norm and that is how it should be. It’s going to be a simple Holi with gulal for me.
