Noyontara, which hit the tube in June last year, is set to enter a new season soon. The upcoming chapter will mark the entry of a new hero and his family, signalling a significant shift in the storyline. The makers have roped in Shubham Dipta to play the new male lead. The actor was last seen in Mangal Lakshmi.
A source associated with the show informed us, “The show is entering an interesting phase where we will be introducing new characters to take the storyline forward. Shubham has been finalised to play the male lead. However, his character will not be the regular hero type that we see in other shows. It will be layered and interesting. We are confident that the new narrative will strike a chord with the audience.”
Shubham remained unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
The actor has been receiving several interesting offers from television. In his last show, Mangal Lakshmi, he was appreciated for his portrayal of a rockstar. In a chat with us last year, while speaking about his preparations for the role, he shared that he drew inspiration from
Sonu Nigam for his character. Wanting to leave no stone unturned, he even followed Nigam’s riyaz techniques dedicatedly.
Speaking about drawing inspiration from Sonu Nigam, Shubham had said, “Portraying a rockstar in the show feels like a dream come true for me, especially since I love singing in real life too. I’ve been a fan of Sonu Nigam’s music, and I feel I manifested this role for myself because my character’s name is also Kartik Nigam. I was drawn to the way Sonu Nigam carries himself — always down to earth and genuine. My character is very much like my role model. Kartik is the complete opposite of the stereotypical image of a rockstar. He is humble and deeply cares about everyone around him. I’m grateful for this opportunity and thankful to the viewers for showering me with so much love.”
