Sachin Parikh: Our Small Habits Decide the Future of the Planet
On World Environment Day, Sachin Parikh, who is currently seen in Vasudha as Prabhat Singh Chauhan, has been in the industry for quite long. Along with his list of Films like PK, Paa, Dil to bachha hai Ji, Aligarh, Loveshuda, Mein Atal Hoon and many more. He did some very popular tv shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Jahan Pe Basera Ho, Bepanah Pyar, Ek Deewana Tha, Pishachini, speaks honestly about the growing environmental concerns and why it’s time we all become a little more responsible in our daily lives.
He feels that pollution continues to be one of the biggest challenges today. “Whether it’s the air we breathe or the water we use, everything is getting affected,” he says. He also points out how rapidly cutting trees is disturbing the natural balance. According to him, climate change is no longer something distant. “We can already see the impact in changing weather patterns. It’s happening right in front of us,” he adds.
When talking about plastic, Sachin sounds genuinely concerned. He shares that plastic waste stays in the environment for years and creates serious problems for animals. “Marine life suffers the most because they end up consuming plastic without realising it,” he says. He further mentions that the damage doesn’t stop there, as it also affects soil, water, and eventually human health.
Despite these concerns, he believes change doesn’t always have to be big or complicated. In his own routine, he tries to stay mindful. He makes sure to switch off appliances when not needed, avoids plastic bags, and prefers carrying cloth bags instead. Saving water and cutting down on unnecessary travel are also things he tries to follow regularly. “I just feel if all of us do a little, it can actually lead to something big,” he says.
Looking ahead, he admits the future can be worrying if things don’t improve. He feels that by 2050, basic things like clean air and water might become difficult to access. “That thought itself is scary,” he says.
Ending on a simple but important note, he adds, “We don’t have to do anything extraordinary. Just be a little more aware and responsible. That’s a good place to start.”
