TV celebs have taken to Twitter to mourn the demise of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch. She died Thursday (September 8) after 70 years on the throne. She was 96.
The Kapil Sharma Show fame Sumona Chakravarti wrote, “Rest in peace Your Majesty! #QueenElizabeth.”
Rashami Desai tweeted, “A legendary woman who will remain not only in the history of mankind, but also in our hearts.
My condolences. #QueenElizabeth.”
Nishant Bhat on Twitter wrote, “7 Decades, 15 Prime Ministers, 1 Queen. Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth.” Kavita Kaushik expressed, “Rest in peace Queen , the Rainbows came to take you.”
Arjun Bijlani tweeted, “Rip #QueenElizabeth.” Ridhima Pandit tweeted, “7 decades. 15 Prime Ministers. 1 Queen. She will be remembered today, tomorrow and everyday. Rest in peace #QueenElizabethII.”
The palace announced she died at Balmoral Castle, her summer residence in Scotland, where members of the
royal family had rushed to her side after her health took a turn for the worse. "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow," the Royal Family said in a statement.

Narendra Modi on Thursday condoled the death of Queen Elizabeth II as he hailed her "inspiring leadership". Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister recalled his memorable meetings with the Queen during his UK visits in 2015 and 2018.
"I will never forget her warmth and kindness. During one of the meetings, she showed me the handkerchief Mahatma Gandhi gifted her on her wedding. I will always cherish that gesture," PM Modi tweeted.
