Salman Khan, Neha Kakkar to Kapil Sharma, celebs have often taken a step ahead and played the good Samaritans to people who have been in need. Be it their generosity shown in reality shows or a natural disaster; their act of lending a helping hand has always been inspiring. During the lockdown too, many celebs came forward to providing financial aid or food aid as well. Here’s a look at some of their inspiring moments.

Salman Khan

The Bollywood actor’s charity work is not new. Salman Khan recently came out in support of Rakhi Sawant. Not only Salman, his entire family has been helping out the Bigg Boss 14 finalist’s ailing mom. Rakhi and her mother have constantly thanked Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Salim sir and the entire family. Rakhi also shared that Salman Khan’s doctor is checking her mother.

Neha Kakkar

Apart from her singing, Neha Kakkar is also known for her social deeds. She recently donated 3 lakhs rupees to the families of missing labourers from Uttarakhand. When Indian Idol 12 team invited famous lyricist Santosh Anand, who has worked with LaxmiKant Pyarelal in the past, he spoke about his financial condition. Learning about his debts, Neha decided to give Santosh Rs 5 lakh. Previously Neha had provided monetary help to musician Roshan Ali, contestants Shahzad Ali and Diwas.

Kapil Sharma

Kapil Sharma had donated the extra food from his wedding and reception to an NGO called Feeding India, who distributed the food to the underprivileged. He also contributed Rs 50 lakh towards the Prime Minister relief fund in fight against Coronavirus.

Pearl V Puri

During the times of crisis due to the outbreak of COVID-19, many television actors came forward to help the people in need and the daily wage workers. Pearl V Puri had transferred money directly to the bank accounts of the spot boys, who had worked for shows starring him. He had received more than 100 names from one particular production house and he immediately transferred money into their accounts.

When Swaragini actress Nupur Alankar was financially going through troubled times as her mother needed immediate hospitalization, Akshay Kumar offered help. Renuka Shahane had taken too Twitter to thank the actor.

Amardeep Singh

In Super Dancer 3, Super Dancers would dance with their Super Gurus. Super Guru Amardeep Singh, known for robotics, was overwhelmed with his partner Gaurav’s performance. As a gesture of respect and affection, Amardeep gifted Gourav a pair of black shoes after their performance because he felt that they shared a similar struggle in their childhood and understood what he may need.

Composer-singer Himesh Reshammiya had offered two contestants of a singing-based reality show the chance to sing for a Bollywood film. Himesh, who was a judge on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs, gave singing offers to contestantants Ranita and Aryananda.

Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy

Indian Idol contestant Sunny Hindustani, known as the shoe-shine boy, was offered to sing for a Kangana Ranut film. Composers Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy reached out to him, asking if he could give playback for one of the songs in the Kangana Ranaut-starrer, which was directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.

Ronit Roy

During the financial hit last year, actor Ronit Roy, who himself was going through a crisis, decided to sell off stuff from his residence to raise money for assisting 100 families. He had also urged production houses to pay the staff their dues as everyone is undergoing physical, mental and emotional stress due to the lockdown.
