TV actors talk about the picnics that they have enjoyed

Want to spend some fun time with your family or friends? Well, plan a picnic. That's what people have always done. Of late, with busy schedules, things have changed, but given a choice, even today one would love to enjoy a stress-free picnic with their dear ones. On World Picnic Day today, we decided to speak to TV actors about their favourite spots and memories...

Sunayana Fozdar

My first trip is most memorable... it was a picnic to Goa with my friends. We were in college and I had a conservative upbringing, so except school picnics, I had never been on a trip with friends. So, the trip to Goa was something different and most exciting for me. I was kind of a nerdy student, and for me visiting Goa with my friends helped me discover myself in a different way. The fact that I finally had the freedom to go on a trip was liberating to me. Although now I've travelled to several beautiful places, but nothing can beat my first adventure, it just stays with you forever.

As kids, we used to go to Ganpatipule and that tradition has continued for me. We have our own farm house there. I go there along with my friends and family once or twice a year whenever I get some time off. We often spend our New Year there. There are many beaches where we just sit and spend quality time. I enjoy the scenic beauty there.

I love picnics. It’s the most fun thing to do when you have a spare day. I love beautiful, scenic destinations. I’ve been on many picnics so far, but I remember the most beautiful one was in Central Park, New York, where I clubbed a picnic with my photoshoot. It's amongst the most beautiful places in Manhattan. I remember we kept shifting our picnic spots after every outfit change. It was a day full of fun, laughter, good food and beautiful clicks with friends which made it memorable and productive.

Shafaq Naaz

When I was in school in Class VII, I used to be fascinated by picnics, but my cousins and I weren't allowed to go on a school picnic. So we thought of having our own picnic at a nearby garden. I used to live in Meerut. We got a few eatables like popcorn and ice-cream and we sat in a garden putting a scarf like cloth on the grass and we had a great time. That's one of the most memorable picnics that I have been to which I will cherish all my life.

Our family was close to singer Mohammed Rafi's family in earlier days. We used to celebrate festivals and birthdays together. We have also been to a lot of picnics to Cheena Creek (Thane). At that time it was considered very far and a reclusive spot. Those memories have stayed with me, which bring a sense of happiness and joy. On World Picnic Day, I would like to tell everyone, 'Take your family and friends out for a picnic, anywhere, even a nearby park would be great. Keep aside your phones and plan games, have some snacks and spend time talking.'

Rahul Singh

My favourite picnic memory is when, as a kid, I used to live in Jharkhand. I would go to the Nandan Mountains with my school friends and it was like a picnic for us. We used to sit there for hours, talk and run around. We would even make food with the help of a chulha. We used to dance there and enjoy ourselves. We would also go to a nearby lake and sit there. I have never had such great time with people in the last 18 years. I miss those days.
