Munmun Dutta has been a prominent name in the TV Industry. The actress is loved for her character Babita Ji in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and her intriguing bond with Jethalal onscreen is the most talked about sequence from the show. In a recent podcast, Munmun got candid about her early days with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and her lifestyle choices. Here's what she shared:

Munmun revealed that she was quite young when she started shooting for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, "When I started the show I was only 20 years old. The senior actors on the show are much older than me."

​Her bond with Mandar Chandwadkar

Munmun shares that she has a special and personal bond with her co-stars on the sets of Taarak Mehta. While talking about Bhide aka Mandar Chandwadkar, she said, "Mandar is very funny and has a great sense of humour off-camera as well."

​On learning about Marathi cuisine from Sonalika

When asked about what Maharashtrian dishes has she tried, Munmun says, "I really love Ukdicha Modak and misal pav. Apart from that vada pav is everyone's favourite. My co-star Sonalika often keeps teaching me about Marathi cuisine. And then another co-star of mine is Konkani so we have an amalgamation of delicious dishes on the sets."

​Everyone has a different taste in comedy: Munmun

When the interviewer mentioned that he wasn't a fan of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Munmun took it extremely positively. She said, "That is completely fine, every viewer has his own taste in comedy. I don't know if I should say this, but even I watch a lot of foreign content for comedy as I don't find a lot of our Indian content humorous enough."

​Being the rare Bengali who doesn't eat meat

Munmun Though Bengalis are known for their love for fish and meat. They are majorly carnivores but I am the rare Bengali who doesn't eat meat. But if I had to suggest, 'prawns malai curry' is something really delicious when it comes to Bengali cuisine."

​The reason behind her name 'Munmun'

Munmun opened up on what made her parents keep her name, she said, "Munmun is a typical Bengali household name. There is even an eminent actress with the same name. However, my overseas friends often mispronounce it due to the spelling. But those who know me often call me 'Moon'."

​Her childhood cartoon memories

Munmun shared, "I remember watching Tom and Jerry in childhood and not Bob The Builder or Oswald. We had the channels but in my house in Kolkata, cable came in much later. Papa wasn't keen on getting the cable channels, middle-class family and its mentality. Actually, I feel it was good that we were away from it.
