Real-life Princess Mohena Kumari aka Yeh Rishta's Keerti gives a peek into her life as a new bride

The Yeh Rishta Kya Kahlata Hai actress Mohena Kumari Singh is enjoying her married life. And she thanks the TV show for giving her tips on ‘How to dress up as a royal bride’. In a tell-all candid chat, the actress and choreographer speaks about her life in Dehradun after marriage, her royal lineage, and the things she misses the most about the entertainment world. A grand and royal wedding

The real-life princess from the erstwhile royal family of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh tied the knot with businessman Suyash Rawat, the son of politician and spiritual guru Satpal Singh Rawat, on October 14 in Haridwar.

Change in lifestyle

After spending a few years in the entertainment industry, doing TV shows and films, Mohena says that things have changed for her after marriage, but for good. She says, “My life has changed a lot and so has my lifestyle. Every morning, I start my day by getting ready, dressing up like a new bride, applying sindoor and wearing bangles. I have always dreamt of doing these things.”

Thanking her show – Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

She adds saying, “Funny part is, I had already learnt a lot about dressing up while doing Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. I got lessons on the set itself where I would dress up in ethnic outfits for the show. It’s like creating a magical world out of reality!”

5/9

Recalling childhood memories

Mohena adds that her new life takes her back to her childhood days when she would admire her granny getting ready. “It reminds me of my grandmother – the way she would dress up and offer prayers. I also miss my mother – the way she would choose from her huge collection of saris and Rajputi poshaks,” she recalls.

Royal heirloom collection

Mohena looked resplendent in her traditional Rajputi poshak, but it was her anklets, a gift by her grandmother, which she loved the most about her look. “There is a tradition in royal families of giving their daughters precious jewels, which are part of the family heirloom. I really love the pair of gold and diamond anklets with blue meenakari work, which were worn by my grandmother,” she shares.

7/9

A spicy life in Dehradun

“It’s so refreshing to let new things happen. I am dressing up, eating a lot of food and doing pujas. The food in my new home in Dehradun is just amazing. My in-laws eat good homemade spicy food. And I have been eating a lot spicier and yummier food at my new abode, meeting new family members, relatives and friends. It’s like a break for me and it just feels so good.”

8/9

Missing her co-stars

She quit her acting career before tying the knot with Suyash. Mohena says, “I do miss going on the sets and meeting my co-actors. More than anything else, I miss reading scripts and preparing myself to mouth dialogues. At the same time, I am very glad that I got the opportunity to work and enjoy what I wanted the most. But this was even more important and I have no regrets.”

9/9

Honeymoon plans

“As of now, I am going with the flow and enjoying my new married life. No plans for the near future, I am just enjoying my time and I want to keep it that way. I am going to travel – there are lot of places that I am going to visit. But honeymoon is bit delayed and we will go next year. My social media account will keep my fans posted about my whereabouts.” The actress is gearing up for a grand reception in Rewa on November 9 and bidai on November 10.
