MC Stan lifts Bigg Boss 16 trophy; A quick look at the previous winners and the prize money they won

Bigg Boss 16 has finally come to an end and the fans of the show got its winner last night in MC Stan. The rapper won the trophy while his close friend and Mandali member Shiv Thakare became the first-runner up. As we have got the 16th season's winner here's taking a look at the past winners of Bigg Boss in the last 15 seasons and also how much prize money they had won.

Rapper MC Stan, who was known as the underdog, left everyone in shock and surprise when Salman Khan announced his name as the winner of Bigg Boss 16 on February 12. Not only did he lift the trophy but also won Rs 31,80,000 (31 lakhs eighty thousand). MC Stan also won a car. It was an unexpected win for everyone but the Mandali were happy that the trophy came into their group.

Bigg Boss 15 was won by Tejasswi Prakash, and the first runner-up was Pratik Sehajpal while her beau Karan Kundrra became second runner up. Along with the trophy she won a prize amount of Rs 40 lakh after Nishant walked away with a briefcase of Rs 10 lakh during the finale night. Inside the house, Tejasswi and Karan Kundrra fell in love and are going strong. The actress is currently the lead of Ekta Kapoor's show Naagin 6 which she got in the Bigg Boss house. She also made her Marathi movie debut this year.

Choti Bahu actress Rubina Dilaik won Bigg Boss 15 along with the prize money of Rs 36 lakhs. Her prize money was cut from the initial 50 lakhs after co-contestant Rakhi Sawant walked away with the briefcase.

Late actor Sidharth Shukla, who died in September 2020 of a sudden heart attack, received a cash prize of Rs 40 lakh in addition to the trophy. The initial prize money was 50 lakh, however, finalist Paras Chhabra also chose to take the briefcase which had Rs 10 lakh. Sidharth is known as the most famous Bigg Boss winner till date in the history of the show.

Dipika Kakar won Bigg Boss 12 and a cash prize of Rs 30 lakh. The amount she received was decreased after singer and co-contestant Deepak Thakur left the show after taking the briefcase during finale night.

Shilpa Shinde won Bigg Boss 11 and received a prize amount of Rs 44 lakh. Vikas Gupta was the second runner-up and he received Rs 6 lakh for winning the 'Vikas City' assignment.

Manveer Gurjar was the first non-celebrity to win Bigg Boss. He won the 10th season of BB and along with the trophy he received a cheque for Rs. 50 lakh. He defeated Bani J in finale.

Prince Narula won Bigg Boss 9 as well as the heart of his co-contestant Yuvika Chaudhary, whom he subsequently married. He received an award of Rs. 50 lakh.

Gautam Gulati, who drew attention for his link up with co-contestant Diandra Soares on Bigg Boss 8, won the competition. Along with the trophy, he reeived a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh.

Gauahar Khan defeated Tanishaa Mukerji, Kushal Tandon, Pratyusha Banerjee, and Ajaz Khan to win Bigg Boss 7. She won Rs 50 lakh as prize money along with the coveted trophy. She returned to Bigg Boss 14 as a 'senior' for a two-week term with Hina Khan, and Sidharth Shukla.

In contrast to its previous seasons, the reward for Bigg Boss 6 was reduced. Urvashi Dholakia, who won against Imam Siddique, won Rs 50 lakhs. Recently, Urvashi was seen in Ekta Kapoor’s show Naagin 6 alongside Tejasswi Prakash. And now the actress will be making a cameo appearance in Pushpa Impossible.

Juhi Parmar, best known for her portrayal as the title character in Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, was crowned Bigg Boss 5 winner in 2012. Pooja Bedi, Sunny Leone, and Shakti Kapoor were among those she competed against. She was awarded Rs 1 crore.

Vindu Dara Singh, who has appeared in films such as Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Partner, Kambakkht Ishq, and Housefull, was the Bigg Boss 3 winner. He won Rs 1 crore by defeating Pravessh Rana. Vindu was also one of the contestants who returned back in other seasons as a wild card entry.

Ashutosh Kaushik, a reality television star, won Bigg Boss 2 in 2008, a year after winning MTV Roadies 5. He, too, received Rs 1 crore. He was recently in the news after he sued the Delhi High Court requesting the removal of certain photographs and articles online.

Rahul Roy, widely known for his role in the 1990s hit Aashiqui, defeated Carol Gracias to win Bigg Boss' first season in 2007. He received Rs 1 crore in addition to the trophy.
