Koffee With Karan 6: Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone talk about their romantic partners, movies and more

Unlike other seasons, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone were the first guests on Karan Johar's chat show, Koffee With Karan 6. They talked about movies, their co-stars and most importantly, their love life. While Alia is in news for dating Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika is soon getting married to Ranveer Singh. Here are the highlights of the show:

Alia revealed she calls Ranbir 'tutu' and he calls her 'lulu'. She didn't hide her relationship status with Ranbir, but wasn't forthcoming either. She gave a lot of laughable excuses for the pictures she had put up with Ranbir on her Instagram account. The one that was clicked at Sonam's wedding was called 'the inaugural' picture by Karan, where she made her relationship status quite clear. She was also accused of 'using' Ayan Mukherji in her pictures with Ranbir, to avoid people from speculating about her affair with Ranbir.

Deepika was constantly teased on the show for her impending wedding with Ranveer. The actress did not reveal much though. There were talks of invitees and the designer among other things. Deepika was also all smiles when she was shown a slideshow of Ranveer and her Instagram pictures with their comments. Karan told her how the two communicate with each other through millions of people, but never say a word otherwise.

The two shared there is nothing 'awkward' between them despite Ranbir being the common connect. They two are very comfortable with each other. At a party recently, Alia-Ranbir, Deepika-Ranveer, Aamir Khan and Karan were seen together. Talking about the same, Deepika said there was she felt safe and happy among people who cared for each other. There was only fondness and positivity. Alia, too, agreed with her. The two said they don't hold on to things and believe in letting go.

While they were elaborating on their equation, Deepika and Alia also revealed they went for a Coldplay concert, which actually broke the ice between the two. Interestingly, they went to the men's loo during the concert as there was a long queue outside the women's. Deepika called Alia her partner-in-crime.

Deepika was earlier in a relationship with Ranbir, and elaborating on what their status is, the actress shared she values her bond with Ranbir much more today and the two couldn’t have been in a better place. She doesn't hold any grudges, and there is acceptance of the situation. She feels she is happy, at peace and very content with her life.

When Karan quizzed her about the things she loves, hates and tolerates about Ranveer, Deepika was almost pre-decided. She said she loves Ranveer’s emotional and expressive side. The fact that he can cry and laugh, and be open about how he feels is admirable. She shared she doesn’t like his lifestyle pattern and manages to tolerate his fashion sense. This made even Karan nod in agreement.

Deepika gave a thumbs-up to Alia's family picture with Ranbir and his mom. Karan, too, feels that the maternal sanction is very important. Alia shared it was an evening well-spent in the company of Neetu Ji and her mom Soni Razdan.

Deepika might have not had a release recently, but the actress spoke about the struggle she went through, before the release of her last successful film. She told Karan she got the support from her industry friends during the time, however, it wasn't public and understandably so. Alia said she was happy as she could see Raazi as a commercially successful film.
