Shiv Thakare, who is showing his daredevil side in Khatron Ke Khiladi 13, got candid with ETimes TV about his stint in the adventure based reality show. He shared how the stunts have been interesting and difficult at the same time. Shiv opened up about the tough days in KKK 13 when he was not able to get things right and his equation with Archana Gautam. On weather in Cape Town and performing stunts in Khatron Ke Khiladi

I think the show is called Khatron Ke Khiladi for a reason. If everything is going fine while doing stunts suddenly the weather gets so bad that it makes the stunts even more difficult. And despite all this when you complete the stunt or win, it gives immense happiness. While we are doing stunts there are times when we feel it is impossible to do the stunt but when you start doing it, things get better and you manage to do it. All this only happens in Khatron Ke Khiladi. (Photo: Instagram)

Partner stunts with Dino James

Luckily, all the partner stunts I’ve done with Dino James and he does it so well. He is a fantastic person. We make sure to do the stunt well. We have been successful 90 per cent of the time. Also, we just don’t complete the stunt, we do it while having fun. We play our part well. I did one stunt with Archana Gautam as well and it went really well. We both performed well. We all have stayed with each other for so long now that we know the strength of the other person. Someone is good at taking shocks, the other can do the water stunt perfectly, or height stunt so we divide accordingly. (Photo: Instagram)

On bonding with other contestants

I would admit here that till the time I don’t complete the stunt, my heartbeat is very fast. We have butterflies in our stomach, but once we have completed the stunt, we forget everything. When we sit together to have food, we have so much fun with each other. Arjit and I pull each other’s legs or sometimes Nyrraa’s we have an amazing time. The tension is always there while performing stunts because this year every week there is a new twist. (Photo: Instagram)

Tough days in Khatron Ke Khiladi - It was emotionally affecting me, it hit me hard

There was a time in Bigg Boss when I was confused if I was going wrong or if I was doing fine. You are just following your principles in life. Similarly, in Khatron there was a time when I couldn’t understand what was happening with me. I knew the journey was mine, but I couldn’t grab the opportunity because it wasn’t my day. It also happens when your journey in the show is not going right and then there are people around who purposely poke you or make fun of you. They make jokes on you, at that time how you handle that pressure is very important. How you take that in your stride and move ahead in the game. I learnt how to perform stunts under pressure. Aisa time tha beech me when it was emotionally affecting me, it hit me hard. I’ve learnt how to handle that pressure and move ahead with a smile. (Photo: Instagram)

Every reality show will have good, bad and tough days and not everyone is going to love you

I handled it in a fun and light way and did not let it affect me at all. I told myself that I’ve to go very far in life and I shouldn’t get affected by these small things otherwise I won’t be able to achieve my goals. My dreams are big and these are small steps which I have to take. These 28 episodes are steps towards my goals. Every reality show will have good, bad and tough days and not everyone is going to love you. My graph in life also has been full of ups and downs and I don't get things easily in life. I've to struggle for it, phir main joh sambhalta hoon, tezi se aage bhagta hoon phir. (Photo: Instagram)

On his equation with Archana Gautam

Like a typical film, Archana and my film also had a happy ending. So Abhi Humara bahut acche note par end hua hai. We have been really nice to each other. On the last day, we sat with each other and discussed why we fight so much. We are in a very happy and friendly zone now. Bigg Boss ka last day alag tha… we were not friends at that time how much ever we say, but now we have ended our misunderstandings and are friends. (Photo: Instagram)

Visiting Roadies as a guest Gang leader

Going on Roadies as a guest gang leader is my life’s best day. I was very emotional that day and happy at the same time. When I was offered Khatron Ke Khiladi 13, I was simultaneously offered something very big but I chose KKK. Then this offer came for a day and that day became special for me. Sitting on that chair, uss chair ke layak banna Yaa channel ne Mujhe samjha I’m very grateful. It took me 5 years waiting in line to reach Roadies, and here I was sitting on the gang leaders chair as a guest. I was given so much respect and Roadies salute, it was a very big thing for me. It was the biggest day of my life. (Photo: Instagram)

As a Roadies fan, the show is incomplete without Rannvijay Singha sir

Personally, if I say as a Roadies fan, the show is incomplete without Rannvijay Singha sir. This is my thinking. I started watching the show for Rannvijay sir. Raghu-Rajiv were also good but I started watching for Rann sir. He is still in contact, he always supports me. I don’t need to tell him, he does it on his own even when I was in Bigg Boss. He’s like my elder brother whose hand is always there on me. He has guided me and whenever he sees something good about me, he sends messages “proud of you”. I think this bond with him will last for a lifetime. (Photo: Instagram)

Rannvijay sir and Prince bhai consider me as their younger brother

Before going to Roadies, Rannvijay sir guided me on how to be on the show, Prince bhai also contacted me when 10 days were left. They also motivated me for Khatron Ke Khiladi. Prince bhai, who is a winner in life and has always won shows, shared a few things with me about the show. They are very supportive and treat me as a younger brother. (Photo: Instagram)
