KBC 16: From recalling his parents' first meeting to inviting Aamir Khan to perform for Jumma Chumma in London; Amitabh Bachchan's intriguing revelations on his 82nd Birthday

Amitabh Bachchan's 82nd Birthday turns into a grand celebration on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 as Aamir Khan and Junaid Khan make it a special episode 'Mahanayak Ka Janmotsav'. As the episode continues, Aamir and Big B have some intriguing revelations from their personal and professional lives. The host even shared a nostalgic clip of little Junaid, when he had graced the show with his grandmother. Take a look at how the dad and son duo celebrated Big B's birthday:

Junaid's childhood interaction with Big B in KBC

Amitabh Bachchan welcomes Junaid and says that this would be his debut on the show to which Junaid says, "Actually, sir I have come to KBC before when I was 7 and I had come with my great grandmother when papa had come to the show for the first time. I was sitting in the audience. After watching the video, Aamir jokes, 'Junaid's GK has improved watching your show.'

Amitabh Bachchan on how his parents met

My father's first wife had passed away so after that he was in a depressed state. During that phase, he used to write to write dark and emotional poems. He used to do Kavi Sammelans to earn a little and his close friend from Bareilly wrote to him inviting him to come over for a retreat. Babuji went there, and like in the old days they would request Babuji to recite poems and the friend told his wife, 'woh Teji aayi hui hai, usse bhi bula lo.'

When Harivansh Rai Bachchan described Teji and his first meeting

Ek mahila ko dekha, bohot hi khubsurat, kya kapde pehne the, kis rang ki shawl thi. Unke nain naksh, Babuji had described everything. He then recited the poem 'Kya karu samvedna lekar tumhari, kya karu!' it was a revolutionary poem. By the poem's end, he noticed tears in Teji's eyes and Babuji also had tears. His friend and his family left the room and Babuji had written, 'don't know why I felt the spark' and soon his friend came with a mala and said, 'Bachchan yeh mala pehna do' That is when they decided to get married.

Aamir's first conversation with Amitabh Bachchan

I remember an anecdote from Ooty, I was shooting for Joh Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and in those days we didn't have mobile phones. So when I returned from the shoot in the evening at the reception I was told that there was a call for me and it was from Amitabh Bachchan. I started laughing as we hadn't met. I was your big fan and thought that in Ooty why would Amitabh Bachchan call me at my hotel? I thought someone was pranking me. But then sir called me back and when I heard his voice, main baitha hua tha, khada hogaya. I was fumbling on the call.

Aamir had performed 'Papa Kehte Hai' for Amitabh's stage show Jumma Chumma in Wembley stadium

Amit Ji had called to invite me to the Jumma Chumma show in London. It was the first stage show where I performed 'Papa Kehte Hain' in Wembley Stadium. It was the first grand show in Wembley and Salman, Sridevi Ji and Neelam were also there performing in the show.

7/13

Aamir was very touched by Big B's caring nature

I was very touched, I was a new actor back then and every time we met each other there while performing or going backstage. Amitji would wait for me and ask for me. I was so touched as he always looked after me. I was a newbie and the care he had for me touched my heart.

Amitabh Bachchan revealed there wasn't a wedding invite but a card revealing that he got married

Aamir Khan showed Amitabh his wedding card which left him gushing and joyous. Big B recited the 'Ramayan inspired' couplet written in the invite and shared that this wasn't actually a wedding invitation but a card revealing that our marriage had happened and we were seeking everyone's blessings. Big B said, 'Jaya still has the card, though I must have misplaced it.'

9/13

Jaya Bachchan's favourite actor has been Dharmendra

Aamir then asked Big B who was the actor that he was jealous of when Jaya Bachchan used to shoot with him. Amitabh Bachchan shared, "I wasn't jealous, but Jaya had already told me that she admired Dharmendra the most. She told me that 'usse khubsurat insaan humari industry mein nahi hai.' and that was one of the reasons why the film Guddi was made."

10/13

Aamir's father had made the film Anamika starring Jaya Bachchan and Sanjeev Kumar

Amitabh further added, "She has even admired Hari bhai, Sanjeev Kumar ji and all." Aamir added, "My father had made a film Anamika where he had starred Jaya ji and Sanjeev Kumar ji together."

11/13

Aamir reveals that he was inspired by Amitabh Bachchan to become a perfectionist

I was shooting for Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in filmcity. We were sitting in the make-up room and outside in the corridor there was a shoot set up for someone's scene and there was someone continuously rehearsing their lines. I opened the door to see and it was Amit ji. I had never met him, I was his fan. I was stunned and I told everyone, 'Amit ji kar rahe hai rehearsal'. We came outside and saw the shoot from afar. I remember, how I found all your rehearsals perfect but you were still at it. Despite giving the perfect shot, Amit ji was still in that moment thinking whether it went well.

12/13

Amitabh Bachchan had raised his voice just once in front of his father

In those days, it was very important to graduate. I tried getting a job but didn't get any in my city and my friends and I would discuss. One of them said, 'humari problem yeh hai ki humare baap ne humein paida kyun kiya?' I thought he was saying right. I went home and for the first and last time I yelled at Babuji asking him, 'aapne humein paida kyun kiya?' Babuji didn't say anything and left a note next morning before going for his walk. It was a poem and then I came to know that I would get a job in Kolkata.

13/13

Here's how Big B did club hopping in Kolkata

I stayed in Kolkata for 7-8 years and received a lot of love, you just get rejuvenated. Aamir then shared, "I came to know that you used to do club hopping.' Big B added, "We used to barely earn, 7-8 of us would just go club hopping, and when it was time to order drinks, we would leave from there."
