What authorities thought

The authorities were far from amused. On Wednesday (September 15), Minister for Home Affairs, Law, Prisons, and Parliamentary Affairs Narottam Mishra ordered police to file a case against her according to a report by TOI. “Whatever her intentions, her way was wrong. I have asked the authorities to register a case against her under Motor Vehicles Act so that no one dares follow this and it doesn’t happen again,” Mishra said in Bhopal.

Case registered against her

Indore ASP Rajesh Raghuwanshi said a case has been registered against Shreya under IPC section 290 for ‘public nuisance’. “Even if the signal was red, the girl was dancing in the middle of traffic, which is a nuisance whatever her intentions be,” said Raghuwanshi.

Shreya’s explanation

Shreya released a video on Wednesday evening, explaining herself: “My main motive in creating the video was to make people aware that a red signal means traffic should stop and they should not cross the zebra crossing.”
