Indian Idol 12: Neha Kakkar getting shaadi ka shagun from Rekha to contestant Sawai Bhatt’s wish to quit; major moments from the show

Singing reality show Indian Idol 12 has been entertaining audience for weeks now and it has also seen some major happy and heart-wrenching moments. From Aditya Narayan testing positive for Covid-19 and then again resuming show to some of contestants’ heartwarming tales, here’s looking back at some of them.

Legendary actress Rekha, who came as a guest judge in the show, mentioned how happy she was to hear about Neha’s wedding and decided to get her a special gift as a shaadi ka shagun. Rekha gifted a beautiful Kanjivaram saree to Neha. Not only this, the Bollywood diva also gifted her a hand-written letter. She wished the Neha and Rohanpreet a happy married life ahead. Neha also got shagun from Neetu Kapoor.

After giving a brilliant performance, Sawai told the judges that he wants to quit the show. Sawai reasoned that his mother has been keeping unwell since the past 3-4 months, and he thinks that he won't be able to go ahead in this journey. Judges Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya were shocked to hear this.

Host Aditya Narayan took a break after testing positive for Covid-19. However, he has finally resumed shooting for the show and also expressed his happiness.

Indian Idol 12's popular contestant Pawandeep Rajan also tested positive for COVID-19 after showing mild symptoms. As a precautionary measure, he was quarantined and resumed after testing negative. Recently, he also celebrated his birthday on a video call with his family.

The yesteryear actress, who is known for her bindaas attitude, left everyone shocked with her instant reaction to one of the biggest controversies of her life. In one of the episodes, host Jay Bhanushali leg-pulled contestant Sayli for having a soft corner for a married man and he asked Neha Kakkar and Rekha if they have seen a woman being smitten by a married man. Rekha was quick to respond and said, 'Why don't you ask me."

Contestant Ashish gave an outstanding performance on the songs Saathiya, Humma - Humma and Satrangi Re. He got a huge round of applause from the dignitaries present on the sets. While praising him, AR Rahman said, "You are a born talent and a great performer with superior voice tone." Ashish then requested the music maestro to sign ‘Taal’ film’s cassette, which the contestant’s father had gifted him.

The upcoming episode will also see a change in judges’ panel as Himesh Reshammiya, Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani will be missing and replacing them will be music director Anu Malik and lyricist Manoj Muntashir. Anu Malik, who was part of the show in the previous seasons and was dropped due to the #MeToo charges, will be returning to the show. The reality show Indian Idol 12 has moved to Daman and the shooting of the recent episode took place there.

In the second week of April, the show made a smashing entry and acquired the third spot. The episode that was most watched, had veteran musicians Kalyan-Anand grace the stage and singer Pawandeep, who was quarantine due to being affected by the coronavirus, performed virtually.

It was a special moment when newlyweds Aditya Narayan and Neha Kakkar's spouses Shweta Agarwal and Rohanpreet Singh made an appearance for a special episode. Interesting anecdotes to some romantic and magical moments were created.
