As we enter the 75th year of Independence, it's a moment of joy across the nation. This pandemic has brought about a lot of changes in everyone's lives. People have been introspecting and looking at things with a newer perspective. On Independence Day today, we reached out to celebs and asked them the one thing they freed themselves from, and brought about a positive change in their lives. Here's what they had to say...

I freed myself from over thinking: Sourabh Raaj Jain

Sourabh Raaj Jain, who was recently in the show Khatron Ke Khiladi says, “One thing that I have got freedom from is excessive thinking regarding work. Earlier, as soon as one project would finish, my mind would start wondering about what next. I would at time even start worrying about the next project. But this pandemic has taught me to truly take everything as it comes.”

Unnecessary shopping is out for Parull Choudhry now

Parull Choudhry loved shopping, but this habit is now under control, she says. "During the pandemic I realised how much I already had, but shopping had just become a habit. I soon realised that all the things that I had shopped before the pandemic were just lying in the cupboard all through the year. That's when I decided to control myself," says Parull.

I now don't waste my time on unnecessary people: Mrunal Jain

Dil Hi Toh Hai actor Mrunal Jain shares, “I have got myself out of one thing and that is wasting time on people who don't matter. I meet fewer people now, I have stopped meeting too many people. I have learned to spend quality time with my parents. I also learned what is important and what is urgent.”

I no longer overwork: Hiba Nawab

Jijaji Chhat Par Parr Koi Hai actress Hiba Nawab has learnt to balance things now. “Earlier, before the pandemic, I only thought of work. All the time I only thought about work. But now, I have got rid of that habit and have brought my life on track. I understood that my body and soul too need to rejuvenate and recharge and I wasn’t doing that at all.”

I freed myself from gadgets and social media: Hitanshu Jinsi

The Mahakali actor Hitanshu Jinsi took a big decision recently and brought about a change in his life. He says, “This pandemic helped me in many ways. I am no more trapped in the world of gadgets and social media. I spend less time on that now. I'm letting myself explore the beautiful surroundings, I'm meeting real people, not online, having a real conversation, not listening to recorded sounds of rain and forest but actually experiencing that. Along with work now I also take out time for myself.”

I have tackled my anxiety: Vivana Singh

Apna Time Bhi Aayega actress Vivana Singh has managed to get a grip over her anxiety. She says, “Sometimes our desires overpower our minds to a certain extent. Then it not only adds to the negativity but it also causes anxiety. So this is one thing I have freed myself from. The oandemic made us understand life better. I used to run away from everything around me but this period brought me closer to myself. I have started valuing everything around me more now.”

No more spending unnecessarily: Shubhashish Jha

Jijaji Chhat Par Parr Koi Hai actor Shubhashish Jha shares, “Splurging unnecessarily on expensive branded clothing, when I don’t actually need them, is something that I have particularly started to avoid. At home I prefer having only the things that are useful to me, I do not clutter the house. So this approach is helping me keep my life simple and easy.”
