From winning Bigg Boss to fighting divorce battles: A look at Shweta Tiwari's professional highs and personal lows

Shweta Tiwari is a successful name in showbiz. The actress has been a part of several popular television shows as the female lead and enjoys great fame. But with her professional highs, there have been some personal lows as well. Here's taking a look at her journey in brief...

It is Shweta's daughter Palak Tiwari who revealed in an interview with ETimes how her mother didn't have it easy. She said, "When she started out, she used to live in a chawl-like one-bedroom space. My nana, my nani, my mama, and my mom used to live there, which was just one bedroom, and that's where my mom started."

It was Shweta's successful career in television that changed her luck. She became a household name with Kasautii Zindagii Kay where she played the role of Prerna Sharma. She also won Bigg Boss, and became the first female winner of the series. Her stint in shows like Parvarrish, Begusarai and Mere Dad Ki Dulhan was loved by the audiences.

Shweta got married to actor Raja Choudhary in 1998. Two years later, they had their first child, Palak. While Shweta's career took off, things went south on the personal front. Shweta accused Raja of domestic violence. They got divorced in 2007.

After Raja, Shweta got married to Abhinav Kohli. Things went smoothly until they had their first baby together. Their son Reyansh was born in 2016. Right after, trouble in her second marriage became public.

In 2019, Shweta made the trouble in her marriage public by filing a police complaint against her husband, accusing him of harassment. Palak stood by her mother's side as Abhinav made their private chats public. He later accused Shweta of keeping their son Reyansh away from him.

While promoting her show Mere Dad Ki Dulhan in 2019, Shweta didn't stop herself from addressing her marital discord. She told ETimes TV, "I want to tell everyone I was going through a difficult time but now I am in a happy space. I was going through severe pain because of an infection, so I got it operated on. It was poisonous and I had to take it out. And now, I am healthy again."

Shweta was relieved after she fought and won her son's custody battle from Abhinav. The actress said, "This is what I wanted and I am honestly satisfied with the judgement. Abhinav would follow me everywhere I went in the last two years." She added, "He alleged that I kidnapped Reyansh and kept him away from him, when I have proof that in all cases, he was aware of Reyansh’s whereabouts all the time. Even during the Khatron Ke Khiladi shoot, he tried to create yet another scene despite being fully aware of Reyansh's stay."

Prior to participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 in 2021, Shweta took fitness even more seriously, and shed several kilos. She also did glam photoshoots that left her industry fans in awe. Even her fans tell her often in the comments section how she is getting younger by the day.
