From Vicky Jain to Sidharth Shukla... a look at contestants who were age-shamed on Bigg Boss

After Munawar Faruqui was body shamed in the ongoing Bigg Boss 17, now it is Vicky Jain who has had to put up with comments about his age from Abhishek Kumar. There have been multiple times in the past when contestants have age-shammed each other in the past seasons as well. Let's take a look at the names...

During arguments Abhishek Kumar has age-shamed Vicky Jain and called him boring. In turn, Vicky has called him kamchor and loser. Vicky once also said to him, “I'll see you when you're 40... I'm at least successful”. In yesterday's episode again, Abhishek repeated the same and called Vicky 40 saal ka budha.

Contestants Mannara Chopra, Anurag Dobhal and Ankita Lokhande were accused of body-shaming Munawar Faruqui and mocking his hair loss. Fans expressed anger on social media and called for action against the three contestants.

In BB OTT episode, contestant Akshara Singh was seen commenting on Shamita's age. While viewers supported Shamita on social media, Akshata received a lot of flak for saying, “Shamita toh mere mummy ki umar ki hai.”

The winner of Bigg Boss 14 Sidharth Shukla didn't have a smooth journey in the house. Although he played well from the beginning, there were some contestants who commented on his age. Mahira Sharma, after a fight with Sidharth, in a fit of anger, called him a 'budha'. She received serious backlash on social media for her comment.

In Season 15, Jaan Kumar Sanu body-shamed Eijaz saying that he looks like a skeleton. During a task, Rahul Vaidya age-shamed Eijaz saying, “Bhaago mat, umar ke liye achcha nahi hai (don't run, it's not good for your age).” While Eijaz took it sportingly and ignored the comments, viewers were quick to defend the actor.

Bigg Boss 14 contestant Sonali Phogat was age-shamed on the show. Later, in an interview, Sonali had said, “I don’t understand that if I have aged, does it mean I can’t work in the industry.”

Paras Chhabra and Shefali Jariwala did not get along in the Bigg Boss 13 house. The former age-shamed her by calling her a cougar after which Shefali's husband Parag Tyagi slammed Paras on social media and Gauahar Khan supported him.

Neha Bhasin, who was seen in Bigg Boss OTT was called aunty and buddhi by the people. She even addressed the issue of body shaming and age shaming later saying, "I don't appreciate such age shaming comments. Why do people say such things? I don't understand this."

Kashmera, who was part of Bigg Boss 13, got into arguments with co-contestant Nikki Tamboli for various reasons. Later, during one of the nominations, Nikki took Kashmera's name and said that she did not reply to the latter’s comments as she respects her because of her age. Kashmera didn’t like the fact that Nikki made a comment about her age while nominating her, and also broke down after the incident.
