From two small spots in her MRI scan to losing 2 kgs in a month and following intermittent fasting, Shoaib Ibrahim and Dipika Kakar talk about her health

Sasural Simar Ka fame Dipika Kakar has been dealing with health issues since last year (2025). However, the actress has been staying strong and focusing on improving her lifestyle by adopting healthier habits. Recently, Dipika's husband Shoaib Ibrahim uploaded a new vlog on their YouTube channel where the couple shared an update about the MRI report. In the vlog, they discussed Dipika’s health, her upcoming lifestyle changes and more. (Photo: Shoaib Ibrahim YT)

Shoaib: Dipika has never finished it in one attempt before

The biggest fear in my heart was that the MRI should be completed in one go, because she has never been able to finish it in one attempt before. She has managed CT scans, but MRI has always been difficult. But thankfully, this time she did really well. The scan was completed in about 35 minutes, and after that, the IV contrast was given. It all went smoothly, and at least it’s done now. We’re hoping the report comes out fine. (Photo: Shoaib Ibrahim YT)

Dipika: I did cry a little before and even during the scan

Dipika: The doctors advised doing an MRI every month, as it’s safer and has no side effects on the body. It’s also more accurate, at least that’s what we’ve been told. I kept mentally preparing myself for it, even though I was scared. I did cry a little before and even during the scan, but it helped. Sometimes crying releases your anxiety, and you come out feeling a bit stronger. (Photo: Shoaib Ibrahim YT)

Details of MRI scan

Dipika and Shoaib: There are two small spots in the MRI report, but they are very tiny. The doctors said they are so small that taking any action right now wouldn’t make sense, so nothing needs to be done at the moment. We will repeat the scan after a month, so regular and close monitoring will now be part of our routine. These spots are so small that they don’t even show up on a CT scan, but MRI is more sensitive, which is why they are visible. The plan is to monitor closely so that any changes can be treated immediately—just like we recently did with RFA. The doctors have also advised monitoring for now and taking action only if it becomes necessary. (Photo: Shoaib Ibrahim YT)

Immunotherapy will begin this week

Shoaib: From this week, immunotherapy will begin. The doctors have recommended it, so we have to go ahead with it. Hopefully, it will start soon. We will need to visit the hospital every 20–25 days, and each session will take around 4–5 hours. That’s how the process will go. I had my report on Wednesday, and since last Monday, things have been quite busy with tests and hospital visits. (Photo: Shoaib Ibrahim YT)

Dipika: Staying happy is also a very important part of overall well-being

Dipika: I feel the entire day goes by at the hospital, and after that, the body feels very tired. Also, when you’re constantly going through tests, your mind isn’t in a space to think about anything else or stay engaged. That’s why, as Shoaib mentioned earlier, it’s very important to keep a light and happy environment. We often ignore this, but even during tough times, there should be laughter and positivity at home. Staying happy is also a very important part of overall well-being. (Photo: Shoaib Ibrahim YT)

Shoaib reveals Dipika has lost 2 kilos

Shoaib: By the way, she has lost 2 kilos in the last month. She has been following a proper and strict diet, along with regular walking. The weight loss has been natural and healthy. The most important change for her has been improving her lifestyle, especially her eating habits. She has already made a big change—almost 75–80% of her lifestyle has improved. There are still a few things left, but they will fall into place slowly. Some issues like sleep are still there because of Ruhaan, so she doesn’t get proper rest. But she has started walking and is trying to stay active. She also needs to begin strength workouts, and I’ll keep motivating her for that. (Photo: Shoaib Ibrahim YT)

Dipika: I started intermittent fasting and slowly added walking to my routine

Everything happened step by step. First, I improved my diet. Then I started intermittent fasting with it, and slowly added walking to my routine. Now, the next step is to begin strength workouts, Inshallah. I’ve started all this under proper guidance. I would especially say that anyone dealing with an illness should not try these things on their own. Always consult your doctor first. Basic things I would suggest—try to avoid sugar as much as possible, especially white sugar. Also cut down on maida and bakery items. These simple changes can really help. But when it comes to specific diets, don’t follow anything blindly. Always be careful and informed. (Photo: Shoaib Ibrahim YT)
