From Namita Thapar to Yuvika Chaudhary; when celebs spoke about their difficult pregnancies and IVF journeys

Motherhood is a deeply emotional journey, and for many, the road to it can be filled with challenges, pain, and perseverance. Several celebrities have bravely spoken about their struggles with infertility, IVF treatments, and the emotional toll it brings — inspiring countless others with their honesty and resilience. Here’s a look at their stories.

2/9

Yuvika Chaudhary

The Bigg Boss fame Yuvika Chaudhary recently opened up about her long and difficult journey to motherhood. In a podcast with Hauterrfly, she shared how she and husband Prince Narula initially consulted the wrong doctor and wasted years and lakhs on failed IVF attempts. “For 2-3 years we had been trying,” she said. Eventually, with the right guidance, she conceived naturally. Today, she’s a doting mother to her one-year-old daughter, Ekleen.

Namita Thapar

Entrepreneur Namita Thapar has been vocal about her second pregnancy struggle after an easy first one. She revealed undergoing two failed IVF treatments and battling depression. “The emotional and physical pain I went through was immense,” she admitted. After giving up hope, she eventually conceived naturally, calling it a miracle. Her courage to share this private chapter years later inspired many to speak openly about infertility and emotional healing.

Sambhavna Seth

After being trolled for her weight and marital status, Sambhavna Seth decided to share her truth. She revealed that she and her husband Avinash Dwivedi have undergone four failed IVF cycles and are currently on their fifth. “If it doesn’t work out, we’ll go for surrogacy or adoption,” she said. Her candid admission shed light on the emotional and physical pressure women face while dealing with fertility challenges. Sambhavna also conceived later on but suffered a miscarriage.

Mahhi Vij

Mahhi Vij’s IVF journey was equally emotional. In 2014, she underwent about a hundred injections during the process. Her daughter Tara was born prematurely and spent 100 days in the NICU. “I broke down when she wouldn’t leave the ventilator,” Mahhi recalled. Despite the pain, she calls the experience her life’s biggest blessing and credits her husband Jay Bhanushali for standing strong by her side.

6/9

Payal Rohatgi

Actress Payal Rohatgi shared her painful reality on Lock Upp, admitting that she cannot conceive despite multiple IVF attempts. “It’s okay to not get pregnant,” she said, stressing mental and physical fitness over societal expectations. Married to wrestler Sangram Singh, Payal continues to focus on her career and positivity, inspiring others facing similar fertility struggles to stay strong and self-accepting.

7/9

Ekta Kapoor

Producer Ekta Kapoor also faced multiple failed IVF and IUI attempts before turning to surrogacy. Her doctor revealed, “We tried several IVF cycles, but they were unsuccessful, so we opted for surrogacy.” Ekta, who welcomed her son Ravie via surrogacy, has since become a strong advocate for normalizing alternative paths to parenthood, encouraging others not to lose hope.

8/9

Kashmera Shah

Kashmera Shah underwent 14 failed IVF attempts before finally welcoming twin sons through surrogacy. “My body went for a toss during the IVF process,” she said, describing the hormonal imbalance and emotional distress she faced. Despite the pain, Kashmera never gave up. Her openness about the physical and mental toll of IVF helped break stigmas surrounding infertility treatments in the entertainment industry.

Debinna Bonnerjee

Actress Debinna Bonnerjee’s five-year-long journey through IUI and IVF was marked by persistence and hope. “I tried IUI five times before moving to IVF,” she said, adding that she refused to waste time asking “why.” Her determination paid off when she welcomed her daughter Lianna. Debina continues to inspire women to embrace science and self-belief in their motherhood journey. She also welcomed second daughter Divisha within a year of delivery through normal pregnancy.
