We asked actors about their most memorable Dhanteras purchase

On Dhanteras people buy various things such as gold, silver, utensils and a lot of other things as good fortune. On an auspicious day today, actors share about their Dhanteras purchase which is close to their heart.

Madalsa Sharma

Dhanteras is an auspicious day and it is the perfect time to buy jewellery and household items. There are many things I have bought over the years, but the one thing that I had bought as a child is precious to me even today. As a kid, I bought a children’s kitchen set and played a lot with it over the years. I still have it with me!

Mohit Malhotra

Dhanteras is always about buying gold in one form or the other. This year, I have bought a car for myself and will also be buying gold coins. This car purchase is special for me as it is something that I wanted for a while. Each year, my mother reminds me to buy something on Dhanteras as it
is auspicious.

Ashnoor Kaur

Firsts are always special. I remember buying my first gold earrings many years ago and I still have them with me. I can’t use them too often because of my shoots, but whenever I get a chance, I wear them and it’s a special feeling.

5/8

Delnaaz Irani

Every year, there is a ritual we follow of buying one gold coin. A few years ago, after I did a reality show, I wanted to gift myself something special, so on Dhanteras, I bought a diamond and gold ring, and a bracelet, which was quite expensive. Whenever there’s a special occasion, I wear it and think about how precious it is to me because I bought it as a gift for myself with my hard-earned money.

6/8

Vishal Kotian

There is one thing I remember buying on Dhanteras. In those days, I was still doing my first show and I wanted to buy something special for my father. As he is a follower of Tirupati Balaji and visits the temple every year, I thought of gifting him a pendant of Balaji and that made him really happy. This is my most memorable Dhanteras purchase till date.

7/8

Supriya Shukla

Since my childhood and even now, we buy a silver coin and a utensil on Dhanteras. Even though each year’s rituals are the same, these purchases are special and close to my heart because they remind me of all the blessings of my elders. On Diwali, we do puja of those coins. Since my parents and parents-in-law aren’t around me anymore, this ritual reminds me of them and their love and blessings. So it is sentimental for me.

8/8

Rohitashv Gour

In 2002, when I had just got married, I was struggling financially. Even then, on Dhanteras we bought a few utensils, which we have still kept in our kitchen. This purchase is special because we bought them during our tough times with our hard-earned money and I’ll never forget that.
