From being neglected in the Industry to women constantly demeaning her for not conceiving; Sambhavna Seth details her struggles with IVF journey

Sambhavna Seth has been sharing details about her IVF journey through her vlogs for quite some time. The actress recently came on the podcast with Debina Bonnerjee where she opened up about the struggles she has faced, her IVF journey, women looking down upon her and more.

On Sambhavna's Journey in the Industry

Women supporting women should be there, why is it always perceived as jealousy? Whenever I have seen you Debina, I have seen you on a pedestal that I couldn't reach. Coming from the reality shows and Bhojpuri background, people would look down upon me. Even when I started my vlogs, that is how I was perceived by people. But I feel that whenever one grows in life, they shouldn't take the bad with them ahead.

How she felt neglected

In our industry, I have been very affected by this. When I go to an event, party or something, people often neglect me. That did hit me, the attitude wasn't something I wanted. So I have learnt from that, the way they have behaved with me, I wouldn't do that with someone.

Her IVF journey

When my IVF had begun, I wasn't vlogging, but then one day I decided to vlog about it. Another reason was that people were watching me continuously so I wanted to show. People would comment on my body and keep writing that I am not losing weight. So I wanted to show them what I was struggling with and why wasn't I looking as per their standards.

5/9

Coming from Bhojpuri Industry

Then there are people who commented, 'Aree baccha nahi ho raha hai.' Without understanding the struggle behind it. We aren't living in a village. There are so many issues regarding my health, that I didn't marry at the right time. I had a lot of struggles in life, I was struggling to make ends meet when I was working in the Bhojpuri Industry. And you get much lesser paid there in comparison to Hindi. After all that, I got married when people thought I wouldn't get married at all.

6/9

Her struggles with failed IVFs

I faced a lot of failed IVFs, and a lot of ladies have said such harsh things to me. 'Baccha nahi ho raha, kuch kami hai.' Haan kami hai, look at our age. I don't know what is the problem as my reports are good but still, the IVF isn't working. Thankfully I can talk about it now, for the past two years what things were halted, are now doing better for me.

How women demeaned her for not having a baby

Recently, I lost my mother and we had to go to the village to attend a wedding as Avinash wanted me to move on from the grief. I still made up my mind and went for the wedding, I chose to get out of the grief and be happy around them. I will try to enjoy it, People saw the happy side of it but what happened there was unforgettable, some ladies came to me, and one of them was like 'ab toh baccha kar hi lena chahiye, ho jana chahiye.' If it was that easy then I would have done it. Another one said, 'Kuch toh karna padega, dikkat hai toh bata do. Tumhari saas ko dekho.' When I asked her who was she, she was a neighbour not even a relative.

8/9

Her battle with health issues

Being a woman, you are unable to understand that someone would go through serious issues. Just because I look strong doesn't mean I would be strong physically and mentally. I suffer from arthritis, which is one of the reasons I couldn't transfer my last IVF as the arthritis increased. Here I am in a terrible state but they are all concerned about having a baby.

9/9

Comments that shattered Sambhavna

A lot of people in our society constantly demean the woman who is trying to conceive but is unable to do so. These constant comments must have shattered me so many times but I haven't spoken about it. But it does affect as they try to make me believe that I can't conceive at all.

Good that she is recouping well from the initial years of her journey, when she made all the wrong decision in the name of being cool and pheminazi.
